I think the schedule broke well for the Steelers here. NFC North/AFC South games.
- Open at the Giants: new coach, should be tough in Week 1 due to pandemic, so teams with coaching continuity will benefit - @ Ravens is a Sunday 1pm game; Ravens at Steelers is Thanksgiving night game, that will be hype - @ JAX the Sunday before Thanksgiving, maybe I'll make a trip and tailgate with Jake Jortles if he lets me - tough game @ Buffalo in December on Sunday night football, that'll be fun with #BillsMafia @cedevaney - drawing the Colts at home in late December - old QB, dome team, cold weather... - four primetime games - two Monday nighters, one Sunday night, Thanksgiving night, plus @ Cowboys will certainly be the national broadcast at 4:25 - five games against teams with new head coaches (Giants/Washington/Cowboys/Browns x2)
No question about it. Evans is a punk at times, but he has the production. I don’t have a problem with both of them being Top 6 in the NFL in Brad Kelly’s recent rankings. The most important thing was him proclaiming what everyone already knows, that Michael Thomas is the greatest receiver. Top 1. People who watch more football already know this and of course have been saying it for a couple of years. In a bit of a surprise and getting slight disagreement from me, Julio Jones was named second over DeAndre Hopkins who was third. Of course either is arguably [tm] second best wr in football, but I’d go with Hopkins over Jones

Per NFL Next Gen Stats, Lattimore trailed Evans all over the field, covering the big receiver on 43 of the 53 routes he ran against the Saints defense: Marshon Lattimore shut down Mike Evans in the @saints win, allowing 0 receptions on 2 targets as the nearest defender.

Would anyone here be interested in doing a Wins Pool? I will run it. If you aren't familiar with the concept, Bill Simmons popularized it on Grantland and basically you get 10 people, set an entry fee, draft 3 teams each, then sit back and watch football. The person with the most combined wins takes the pot at the end of the year. I run two of these with friends, and they are $25 per entry. To spice things up, a few years ago we introduced the "Trump variable" (dummy variable), which is the two teams that aren't picked - if you lose to one of those teams, you owe an extra $5. So last year I think in the two I run, one had Trump teams of Washington and the Bengals, and one had Dolphins/Bengals. So when the 'phins beat the Jets, the Jets owner owed another 5 bucks.
Anyway, if you'd be interested, let me know. If we get 10 people, we can run with it.
Those are the rules that Simmons used. It's not a typical snake draft. Whoever picks first picks 1, 20, 26. Whoever picks 10th picks 10, 12, 24. The order is in the link.

You in for a chance to even that bet again since you have Tom Brady? I’m down with another 50.00 a game and I’ll even bet you another 50.00 we sack him 5 times in the two games, if you are man enough to take that bet.

Two more spots. I'm not sure if cdevaney liking the initial post meant he is in, he has the 9th spot if he wants it.
I hope we draft on inforoo so each pick earns its proper ridicule 😂 Do you PayPal PP? Message us with payment info. Fingers crossed that the pandemic subsides to where there is a season.

Yeah, I have paypal and venmo, but we'll wait until the season gets closer and confirmed before taking care of stuff like that.
We should employ multiple personnel groups where at least 2 players on the field at any given time can line up at multiple positions (Hill, Kamara, Montgomery). I don’t know if we will be the top offense in terms of yardage because we have transitioned to a more short pass and run oriented offense. But along with KC, we will be one of the most difficult teams to game-plan for and extremely difficult to stop.
Also, I don’t know if y’all saw that the winner of the watch a game with Roger Goodell auction was none other than Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy, licenser of the Goodell Clown T-shirts. He’s banned from the NFL for the protest against deflategate and was kicked out of Super Bowl Media Night as well as the Super Bowl itself. Haha. Shit is funny as hell and some betting houses are actually offering odds on whether or not this happens now. Yes is +200, No is -300. Considering he gave out tens of thousands of Goodell is a Clown towels to Patriots fans for the season opener after they beat the Falcons in the Super Bowl, my bet is this won’t happen. If you are unfamiliar with the story and the back story around the auction, it’s fucking hilarious to me. www.google.com/amp/amp.awfulannouncing.com/barstool/barstool-sports-dave-portnoy-wins-charity-auction-watch-football-with-roger-goodell.html

Over in the NBA Draft thread, it was mentioned that this would be cool for the NFL. I think it might be impossible, but willing to consider. I had a different idea, to create an Inforoo NFL Hall of Fame. We would start from scratch.
