Toy Story 2 by a pretty wide margin. The first ten minutes or so of Up are just about perfect tearjerker-type stuff, but I think most of the third act is pretty forgettable by Pixar standards
I can't believe that so many of you are choosing WALL-E over Toy Story. As someone who's watched both a lot recently, this shouldn't even be close.
I'm wondering if it might just be because it predates a bunch of you?
Toy Story came out when I was 7, WALL-E when I was 21. No doubt that Toy Story is one of the most groundbreaking films of all time in regards to animation style, but for me, the storyline of WALL-E wins over Toy Story. I think it is a much more unique concept.

It was the toughest choice as I've long touted that WALL-E was my favorite Pixar movie. But yeah I grew up on Toy Story and saw ever single sequel in theaters out of pure loyalty to my upbringing. I love how I grew up with that franchise, as its probably the most flawless film series ever, spanning as many years, decades as it has, with the main original voice cast. Had to vote Toy Story.

The first third of WALL-E (before dialogue comes in) is really just jaw-dropping. Toy Story came out the year I was born and I grew up watching it, and it also holds up really well! I don't think there's a wrong answer, but I voted for the one I though had less of a chance of advancing to the championship.
What I do find more concerning though is people voting for Up over Finding Nemo

I just made Jack watch Up for the first time and he didn't show a single shred of emotion at the end of the Carl and Ellie montage. I... I have no words.

I was 5 when the first Toy Story came out (actually had JUST turned 6 - fucking crazy, right) and I love the first TS, but WALL-E is just such a well done movie imo. It's a beautiful story, whereas TS feels more like a really good kids movie. If that makes sense? I think if you asked 7 year old me I'd say Toy Story hands down, but 30 year old me appreciates WALL-E more.

Same. As a matter of fact, when we saw TS4 in theatres our entire theatre was actually adults. And most walked out in tears (myself included).

He's a robot.
Yeah, it was really sad when the animators stopped drawing his wife.
