Yeah, it sucks. The jury’s still out, but it’d be a lot cooler if this thing weren’t around at all.
On the positive tip, Pfizer is already saying it expects lab data within two weeks and could formulate and be in production on a new vaccine keyed to any escape variant in 100 days.
Not ideal, but we’re not defenseless.
this is what i’m happy about. at least with problem variants like this one we already have the base vaccine so they can easily modify it to protect against new variants
My wife started feeling terrible last night. She went to get tested this morning. We canceled our family event for tonight.
She's vaxxed, boosted and flu shot so hopefully it's just a cold.
Shit. I know that feeling - had the same thing with me, our family baby shower, and a random fever I had a couple months ago. Good luck, and fingers crossed it’s minor and resolves quickly.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

We've had a few guys out sick. All have to get tested and have tested negative. There's a cold/cough/sinus thing going around.
I went and dropped off the cheesecake that she had made for tonight and picked her up some soup while she rested and she was noticeably better already when I got home. Fingers crossed.

I’m not going to panic about Omicron, yet. They said they should have data within a few days on how much of a hit to vaccine efficacy the Omicron presents. Moderna is already testing an Omicron-specific booster. I’m going to be in this trial until I die at this rate.
We should be proactive and cautious but I agree that we don't need to panic yet. We need more data. At this point everything is just speculative. There have been variants in the past that haven't really taken off.
We really need to start taking global vaccine equity seriously.

Booster scheduled for Monday morning. When I finally looked yesterday, they had appts on Wednesday and Friday, but I figured that might be a bad plan with holidays and such.
Was hoping to save it for a weekend but I ended up getting boosted today since they were doing it at my job and I didn’t have to worry about them asking too many questions about me not being insured at the moment. So here’s to hoping I don’t feel like shit for the next 24 hours!
But in happier news, we brought a close friend who has resisted getting vaxxed this whole time and she got it! She's suspicious of the myocarditis issue/narrative, but I know she will be great
That sucks. I had a very mild fever overnight. Took some tylenol for it this morning. Arm feels about as good as it can for getting an injection in it. It hurt some to sleep on that side last night but not enough to keep me from sleeping. I had a headache this morning as well, but that could be allergies or dehydration or bad luck. Not sure it tied into the booster.

I feel about the same as I did after my second shot. You?

I might feel better than I did after the second shot. I was in the 80-90% ok range after the second, and I'm probably solidly at 90% now.
