How you doing, Jim? My arm got worse as the day went on yesterday to the point where I couldn't lay on that side comfortably. I was also ready for bed way sooner than usual. Things seem to be better now after a night's sleep though, so hopefully, they stay that way all day.

Thanks for asking. I was on the couch doing classes from home yesterday because I was feeling pretty weak and feverish. My partner felt the same and her arm was very sore. We were in bed before 10 which is very rare for me. But I feel pretty much 100% today! Also feel relieved to have the booster done before Omicron craziness sets in. Hopefully it doesn't end up being a big deal though
BOOSTED! Just got Pfizer #3 the past hour...Didn't have any side effects other than sore arm the first time which lasted 2 days, and the second time the soreness was barely there for 1 day.
So fingers crossed I'm in the clear with this one too!
Israel’s health minister cited “room for optimism” in the fight against the emerging Omicron variant, saying people who have received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine and a booster are “most likely protected” against it.

I'm starting to feel like us J&J people got a placebo...

Maybe I should get the second Moderna for shits and giggles to see if I can get 7g.

They also suggested that Omicron is only a little more transmissible than Delta which would be great considering some of the projections people have been throwing around. I'm waiting until they actually have some data or evidence to back up these claims before I get too optimistic but fingers crossed.
Ugh. Just had an interaction with someone who came in with a mesh mask. I couldn't tell until he turned his head to leave and I could see his mouth through. Why work that hard to endanger other people?

I don't get the people that do this. If you're going to wear a mask that doesn't do anything just don't wear a mask.

It's a variation of malicious compliance. I'm sure he would have loved nothing more than for cdevaney to say something so he could proudly point to the sign saying that just says masks rather than it spelling out masks that will actually do anything to stop covid.

Reminds me of the episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air where Will wears his tie on his head at school. "You said I am required to wear a tie, didn't say where!"

Makes are required indoors in my county.
It's been much harder to gain compliance this go-round. I don't really have a whole lot of leverage to compel responsible behavior and the idiots are much more dug in than they were a year and a half ago.

My daughter's second shot was canceled for tomorrow because the state is apparently backordered on vaccines. Fingers crossed we can get her rescheduled soon.
Just got Pfizer #3, will report back later. For reference I only had arm soreness after #1 but heavy body aches and fatigue (no fever) after #2
So pretty mild aches and fatigue, overall 50-75% less than my when I got the 2nd shot in March. Got the 3rd shot in morning rather than in the afternoon for the first two, so was pretty tired by 8pm so I took an edible and slept it off.

Oh wow, my son just got his second shot yesterday in Batavia. No issues and now 5/6 of us are vaxxed (minus the two year old).

My mom and stepdad have both turned a corner and are steadily improving. So that's good. Last night I checked my mom's Facebook since I unfollowed her a few months ago, and when she got it she made a post about being blessed to have COVID because now she's going to be protected "in the best way possible" and won't "have poisons injected into" her. I shouldn't have looked. My mom's always been fairly apolitical and I'm actively watching her lose herself to right-wing propaganda and misinformation in real time and it's so sad. Ugh it makes me sick.

I'm sorry. That sounds incredibly hard to deal with.
We all understand this, but the whole thing about "well, it's actually good I got COVID because now I won't get COVID" thing is so nonsensical.
Glad your folks are better, Jaz. My dad's a big anti-vaxxer guy, though none of that is new for him. It sucks. He thinks his dad had a heart attack and died earlier this year because he was vaccinated, not because he was 85 years old with multiple bypass surgeries.

My boss thinks that his 45 year old nephew had a stroke because of the vaccine. It was 2 weeks after he got it.

I think itrainmonkeys has posted pre-pandemic about watching Fox run his father's thinking. Feels like it would be tough to watch for sure. At least their physical health is on the up swing.

One of our married couple friends had their new born die of SIDs a week ago. These were pretty close friends to my GF, they went to hangout 14-16 with us.
First thing her mom asks. "OMG DID SHE HAVE THAT SHOT". I've never erupted on anyone in her family like I did then, she hasn't mentioned it since.

How was everyone else's Thanksgiving?
Our Thanksgiving went well and was peaceful. I was a tad worried because we had dinner at my Uncle's house, who is a big conspiracy theory believer and against the COVID vaccines, but he rarely brings up politics/controversial shit in person. Which considering how bad some peeps are out there, always looking for a fight, I'm fortunate. Also lucky cuz my immediate family, and my in-laws, some of which are conservative all have been taking the pandemic seriously and got their shots.
