This is not meaningless. Rooloo had 5 people he could have stacked on. Maddog had 3. They both chose not to stack on those. That has meaning.
why did you stack on the first vote? idk from my perspective theres an immediate 1-2 stack, a vote, then a reciprocal vote. i dont necissariliy think that voting for the first couple of people to get votes on them is that important, especially when there was already such a fast stack
We posted almost simultaneously. After I saw we voted for the same person I didn't care because I knew I'd be moving my vote.

Why vote for someone off the bat if you know you will be changing?

I'm the originator of the "no initial day one vote" theory. My thought is that the first round of votes that are made on D1 are the purest knowledge we have, because it's when a townie looks at their role and makes a choice based on absolutely nothing related to their opinions of the game. When it shakes out and we have a normal four way, that means that there are four people who haven't received votes. We know that in any random group of four, the number of mafia is something like 1.33 statistically. The theory and rudimentary research I've done shows that this is at least the number for those four not receiving votes. So it's not random, and I know I'm going to put my vote on someone who's in that group eventually. But I have to cast a vote for it to work.
I am a little creeped out that a few people have jumped on this theory with me in the last few games, specifically in this game Silver Surfer, going as far to advocate for himself in the runoff.

Also carini12 we have been playing faster games with respect to round lengths and night lengths, and we also have not necessarily been waiting for traditional cutoffs to form the runoffs. Which leads me to the question - Jake JortlesJazDad Dog are you going to wait until the runoff is formed officially to cast your votes?

It's unfortunate that I'm in that group of 4 but I genuinely think that there's a high chance of at least 1 mafia in that group
I think we're at a major disadvantage if we keep trying to randomly vote people in day 1. I think if we actually try to run with a theory it might have better results. Or at the very least, town gets some ideas to work with for the next game. These are data points that already exist and can't be manipulated so it's the best we have day 1. We know that a group of 4 is likely to have 1 mafia. But that's just random stats. There are actual variables where mafia members tend to find themselves, especially last 4 to vote/people with no votes on them. To a lesser degree, it's people that don't stack, but I originally put those incorrectly.
I just think it's time we actually try something new as town instead of this random day 1 bullshit. It's frustrating as hell

If the Draft is any indication, we can't trust Maddog to get in here before the deadline. Guy sleeps til like 1:00 pm. If he shows signs of life, I'll help get us to 3.

*note - this is not an extension request Cookin' Mama*
Jake JortlesSilver Surfer just because you two have posted within the last few minutes, do we want an extension to sort out day 1 by 5pm or something? I'm about to head into a work meeting until the deadline, so just throwing out an idea.

I don't think we need one. I just hate day ones and think we should actually try a strategy for once. I think a few games back we decided to all switch our votes to the people who originally didn't get votes and it worked well iirc. Day 1s just suck lol

Depends if the Round two deadline is going to be significantly later than amount of time we extend. If JTR was planning to close this round at 11 then the next round later tonight, I don't think it's worth it. If the round two deadline would be tomorrow, the extension would help speed up the game enough to be worth it.

Which game was that? unfortunately last game, in D1 the shifting around moved a Mafia member to safety while throwing our Doc into the run-off and in position to get lynched lol. With the Inspector close to that position too... it was not great luck
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

i've been on that kick since you first brought it up a few games back. more so the 'last four to vote' bit. i still think they both hold up, more for runoff shaping than pure stat. i don't know why i got so much shit for saying as much a couple of games back.
but advocating for yourself because youre in a grouping is sloppy. i will agree with that.
