I enjoyed playing with different rules last night but, Ive been thinking about a couple of things.
1. Inspector with full powers really adds an important dynamic to the game. We expect the Mafia to whack on N1 by trying to find out whonis suspicious of one of the Mafia members. Then when the Town sees that whack, they try to see who the whack points to. This is one of the most important tools for the Town.
2. This one is a little more secondary, but if we continue with the Motion method as opposed to voting, I think we should be obligated to go around the horn and say who we are suspicious of. Each vote in the game is an event that helps mafia seek out inspector, then the Town can use that retroactively to find mafia. I think the way we were doing it last night made it too easy for 1-2 people to spark a motion and everyone else seemed irrelevant.
I know the concern was that it’d be for easy for town to have an all out inspector, but Mafia went 4-0 last night. If Town goes 4-0 we will be back to even and we can keep working to get it perfect.

Curious to hear what the squad thinks.
1) I didn't want to give inspector a night 1 confirmed name, because it was 2 mafia/7 town, and having a mafia confirmed out of the gate seemed super unbalanced. I think maybe giving the inspector a confirmed town is a good compromise, assuming a 9 player game. Of course, different player numbers will change the way that goes.
2) Another way I've run games in the past included just general discussion, until someone says "move to vote" and someone else seconds it. Then it's a round robin vote, where the ref asks each person to vote for a specific player. Abstentions are allowed, and a simple majority on one person ends the lynch, even if the vote hasn't made it all the way around. This works really well when everyone is in one room around a circle, but I'm sure could be tweaked for a video context.

I can play Sunday, I'd probably prefer earlier like 7:30 (so not much earlier). Just so I don't miss the beginning of the Bulls series. And that only lasts two more weeks. I'll have thoughts on Jortles post after I attend this work zoom.
Instead of having a steady ref, why don't we take turns? I can ref a game. LD and Dan had volunteered. If we each take one game, can play in the others, it'll be all good.
Are we on for tonight?
Piggybacking off of some of Jortles comments, I think it might help to take turns talking/asking questions, so that everyone isn't talking over each other.
