Yeah I’m for public voting. I honestly believe I’ve got a top 5 lineup right now and I know my stuff tends to just get passed over come voting time so making my lineup a focal point for a bit will benefit me instead of a lot of people going eh his first few drafts were shakey so I’m not going to pay as close attention to this
fwiw, I never take people’s past lineups into account when voting. I don’t even know who people had previously most of the time. I come into voting each time as a blank slate.
Me either. If they didn't talk about it on the pod I wouldn't have any clue who had done well in the past. As it is, I still rarely remember and really don't think it applies to how I should vote in a new draft.
I’ll just use Jake Jortles as an example because he talked about his lineup direction on the podcast. He said he’s going for a less BIG lineup and trying for something more unique and interesting. I think in a poll format he’d have probably no chance but with the opportunity to speak more about his lineup in comparison to another, rather than in comparison to 25 he’d have a much better shot at moving forward.
In the Coachella draft I was one of the lowest in the initial poll but then did Relatively well given to opportunity to talk about my lineup in a 1 v 1 scenario. Not that I’m necessarily going for a win in this draft but I think my lineup is shaping up really cool and I’m most certainly going out first round in a polling situation.
See, I think that in a poll situation you have the opportunity to vote for some of those more different line ups because it's not apples vs oranges, it's apples vs oranges vs pears versus pineapples and then you get to pick which fruits you like the most.

to me it’s much easier to only think about two lineups at one time, but I respect your opinion.

I don't think that it gives the best opportunity for the best final match up but I totally get what you're saying about that head to head matchups being easier to vote for.
Knowing that someone actually tried to cheat on a fantasy draft message board game oddly gives me a confidence boost and reassurance in my own actions.

It’s a music festival draft I’m not sure how it’s that hard to compare line ups. We basically all make multi genre fest. We don’t have someone doing a noise fest and someone making a hangout type fest. Just vote for the one you like more
I haven’t paid close enough attention to really comment (so I’m going to do that now), but I don’t see anything wrong with just making every round public voting. Who really cares? But I don’t make rules, I break them. Can’t offer anymore help.

the funny part is he still lost in the second round.

even then just choose if you like the noise fest or the hangout one better.

I just find private poll voting to be incredibly boring and I lose most interest come voting time. And I think what tЯist♡n said about it rewarding more “basic” line ups is a thing
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Couldn't agree more to this. It's always going to be apples vs oranges no matter how you vote.
I think when it's not public voting, people can vote for their buddies more easily.
wonder who Fred is talking about with this one
Not specifically directed at anyone and not trying to start any rumors.
It is how I see this when people are so vocal and against public voting and I’m just expressing my opinion about this. Why does that bother you so much that you make two posts (both directed at me) about it?
Just like everyone else here, I have a right to express my opinion and I’m not gonna ask you in advance if I can do it. So don’t try to create a senseless argument with me again.
To echo what Fred said, my concern would also be ‘voting for buddies’ being a primary factor in how we pick. We need more people voting than just here and that should last the entirety of the competition imo.
Edit: I just don’t get why voting would ever need to be limited in the first place

”not specifically directed at anyone despite them being the same accusations I have made up about specific people in the past and later apologized for”
No ones voting just for their buddies. We had a married couple last draft lol.
