Two more things if we go brackets: -need a new tiebreaker -I would like to get everyone in on the bracket action. It was fun and I’d feel bad if people got excluded.
Not specifically directed at anyone and not trying to start any rumors.
It is how I see this when people are so vocal and against public voting and I’m just expressing my opinion about this. Why does that bother you so much that you make two posts (both directed at me) about it?
Just like everyone else here, I have a right to express my opinion and I’m not gonna ask you in advance if I can do it. So don’t try to create a senseless argument with me again.
”not specifically directed at anyone despite them being the same accusations I have made up about specific people in the past and later apologized for”
No ones voting just for their buddies. We had a married couple last draft lol.
I’m not making any accusations or judgments lol. Vote for your bodies, don’t vote for your bodies, I don’t care. I’m just saying that I think people might find it more convenient to vote for their friends in secrecy. And again, no accusations if they do so.

The prop said that in case of a tie a poll would be run to decided who'd go on.
And idk how a bracket with 25 works.

Somehow do seedings and do byes for top seeds is all I can think of

the thing that turned me off from the A24 films bracket was so many people just hadn't seen certain films and didn't have any opinion on them, and in certain matchups just vote for the one that they had seen and know. i think with the giant pool of artists we have here, that is the same issue we would be facing with bracket voting. not trying to call anyone out, but im gonna use gocatsnu's lineup as an example.
as much as i love Zeppelin, there's a lot of their lineup that i just simply am not very fluid on, be it their discography or their live history. Bee Gees, Police, Sly & TFS, Coltrane, Allman Brothers Band, are all acts that i'm sure earned their status as top picks in this draft, but i just have never personally really devoted any time to. This is where the lack of a common goal in this game really makes the idea of head to head voting difficult, as Gocatsnu may have put together a lineup filled with undeniable legends, but per my taste most of it just doesn't do anything for me, and my vote for another lineup catered to my taste shouldn't reflect gocatsnus performance.
to put it simply, i think the more active, vocal form of voting from last draft can and should be implemented here, but the head to head matchups with this wide of a pool and this many players just does not seem like the right way to crown a champion. im all for integrating it into the Roo draft, as there is a set goal there, but here i just really don't think there's enough to support it.

Top seeds get first round byes. (See: The Pixar Deathmatch thread)
Festival lineups in general are judged by all kinds of people. There are those who know every act and a large majorly who are in for ten or less. Think it’s more fun to bring the general populace in the game instead of just 25 people who know all these bands.

Whether the proposition passes or not, any inforoo member can vote.
Edit: Are you referring to the cheating? He created multiple accounts to vote for himself.
Whatever, if it doesn't pan it.. It doesn't pan out..
Prop 1: Coachella Draft Voting Process to be implemented into Infinity Draft - One prelimerary round of voting by poll - top 16 advanced and gets put into brackets by the result of the poll (seeding) - voting is public except for the first round - in case of a tie, a poll gets posted for 24h (?) to decide who should move on
-> different here is the change in case of a tie and no people get picked up to get to 16 people (in Coachella, 12 people moved on and 4 people got picked up)

What we are discussing is what format the post-draft voting will take.
Currently we list all of the participants and eliminate in several rounds (25>15>8>4>2>Winner).
The proposition is to change the format to a seeding poll followed by bracket style voting where all votes are text based where you say who you are voting for in sets of head-to-head match ups.

Your bias will come into play regardless of h2h vs a 25 person poll. Not sure I see the point here.

it will, but what I’m saying is that this method makes it about our bias’s less, whereas in bracket voting it’s just defining our bias’s more and more with each round.
my main point is that the lack of defined goal of the game makes h2h voting very odd.
