Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
He plays like 20 festivals per year. Doesn't seem like a hard get to me.
Yeah but when it comes to the type of electronic that Inforoo fawns over, Roo hasn't booked anything like that in years. Unless you want to count Iglooghost who opened a stage. Last time a bigger, decent electronic act played Roo was Jamie xx is 2015.
I see what you guys are saying. I think Floating Points is in line with stuff like Caribou and Four Tet that they've booked before, even if it was years ago. Even Yaeji this year a bit. I wouldn't call him likely but he's far from undraftable IMO. I think he would get a decent turnout with good scheduling.
He’s an improvement pick. That’s how I saw us taking Koze at least. Every team has unrealistic picks at this point. It’s now a matter of how many are we willing to take to improve the fest while maintaining realism.
Possible but if you want to see him you probably aren’t expecting Bonnaroo to book him.
You don't expect Bonnaroo to book any of it but Floating Points is in line with the likes of Four Tet and Caribou that don't seem impossible.
Yeah, this was meant more in defense of the choice. Like I wouldnt expect McDonald’s to sell vegan Mac N Cheese but if they did I imagine a subset of customers would be very excited. The problem is floating points fans probably wouldn’t go to a four day fest just for him. I don’t remember what your lineup looks like though so it’s probably a totally fine pick
There is EDM I like and non EDM electronic music I don't like so... no
Ok so what is the difference then? Is non-EDM just, like, ambient music?
I'm confused why you're asking what seems like an obvious question? EDM is a broad genre of music. Much electronic music doesn't fall into EDM. I think you're trying to act like I'm gatekeeping but I don't think I am.

How am I accusing you of being a monster lol I'm asking a pretty simple question about how Floating Points is not literally electronic dance music like if you went to his show you would stand completely still?
One employs techniques of consistency in their live acts, the more broadly defined electronic scene often uses off-tempo and less "hype" related sampling techniques. Drops are also used in acid house and it's easier to describe the difference by their tempos and use of instruments (i.e. hard hats, constant beat, sirens and/or vocal pitching)

I’d rock out at his show. Guess he’s rock actually.
Damn. Fozzie is going to kill me. This is the first one I said we could wait on and then someone else took them. I really thought they’d make it back to us.
