Does me having her b2b challenge that pick? I can’t imagine there is much crossover because she doesn’t play any original music with either as far as I know
Can you be more specific with this question? I'm not sure what acts are being referenced.

The Ladies of LCD Soundsystem. I don’t care either way but figured I’d bring it up so we can clarify
Were Bonnaroo organizers ever involved in Inforoo? How did this thing start?
No but after they shuttered their own forums they directed everybody here which was a bit of a shitshow, IIRC.
They do have people that monitor it and leak some information but nothing official.
Also, the Roo Clues started with their Radio Bonnaroo DJ (DJ Farmhound) realizing that we were actually listening and reacting to what he was playing and so he started dropping really obvious lineup clues. (Janis Joplin's preserves. Clouds takes like this. Etc.) He got some flack for it but then they let him do it in subsequent years and the clues got more involved. Some required getting involved in Twitter back in like 09 (that's why I joined Twitter). Another entailed going to a specific bar in VA to find a flyer, I believe. Finally he left and they started doing it on their own to the general public.

Oh. Didn't see that pick. Couldn't find anything on her being picked individually. Is it a separate thing from her solo DJ stuff? I'm not at all familiar. I think that we're fine repicking if this is biting your selection.
I get why the rule would appear unnecessary to someone who doesn’t understand the history of these drafts, but it was a way to define exclusivity and it actually expanded the amount of acts you could take.
Originally, if someone took Planetarium, that person would have the rights to every single band that included those humans. If you took Gorillaz, you got Gorillaz, Blur, Albarn solo all with one pick. Pretty sure at one point drafting Tame Impala took Pond off the table.
Then when we went all the way in the other direction and removed that sort of exclusivity l, especially in the Infinity Draft the following acts were all drafted separately: Beyonce, Jay Z, Beyonce & Jayz, The Throne, Jay Z and R Kelly, Jay Z and Linkin Park, Drake & Lil Wayne, Drake, Lil Wayne, Colle Grove, Miles Davis, Miles Davis Quintete, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg.
Then the 6 song rule came in and made it to where we have like 4 exclusivity questions per game. If you can improve it, go for it. Write out the rule that makes most sense. Nobody should turn down a clearly better option.
What you’re saying makes total sense and I agree with it. When you draft an act, you draft the act itself and not the people who make up the act. Im not arguing otherwise- for example, I don’t think that you should draft Phish and also get the Trey Anastasio Band.
I just think the six song rule seems a little unnecessary. Like, even if Trey played six Phish songs at his show, it’s still a completely distinct act. Like I mentioned earlier, I don’t think it diminishes the value of taking Phish because very few people are gonna be like hmmm I really love Phish but I’d rather see the only few Phish songs Trey plays. If someone prefers TAB to Phish it’s probably not on the basis of the Phish songs he plays. Like I stated earlier, I’d actually prefer seeing Damon Albarn to Gorillaz and it’s certainly not because he plays Gorillaz songs in his set list.
Dont think I responded here. I think what you’re suggesting is fine. You dont think some people just go to TAB show mainly because they get to see Trey, their hero from Phish, jam around on his guitar? Honestly not jam guy so I dont really know. Honestly there arent really many examples outside of this one where the rule gets in the way of things.
As far as the OG draft rules, the exclusivity thing was based on all of the festivals occurring at the same time and not being able to share exclusive artists. The thought was that it would add an element of selecting acts strategically. You could select one act that would give you exclusive access to two or three others if you wanted or at least to block out other lineups from having them. (You still had to actually select them.) People didn't like that aspect so we changed it.

I’m not bothered by it. Just wanted to know how the rules applied to it. If the rule enforcing people don’t care then I see no reason you should lose the pick. From what I gather both are dj sets. It’s like Mark Ronson dj set vs Mark Ronson vs Kevin Parker to me

Okay. In looking into I still can't tell if the Ladies stuff was them on stage together going back and forth or one doing a set and then the other so they seem like different things and as far as I can tell Whang isn't DJing Ladies of LCD or LCD proper material in her sets. If you're not troubled by it then we'll keep her.
Who else here is a transfer from the Coachella board?
I came from the Jam Fan Forum which was created by some frequent posters on the (paid) Krewe of Roo board when the Bonnaroo folks shuttered it in maybe 05.

I mean yeah people go to TAB because it’s Trey, but not because he might play 6 Phish songs. I think that’s why I find the six song rule silly, even if the offshoot covers a bunch of songs from the original act, it’s still it’s own thing. And people can decide for themselves if they like a lineup better with a full Phish set or a Trey set that has a few Phish songs. Just seems unnecessarily restrictive to me.
