Damn. Copying the 2020 poster design kinda adds to the realism. I now regret spending time making my poster look different lol.
I still feel like we all should have been required to use the same template. We're all booking the same festival (Bonnaroo 2021), not like everyone is making up their own unique fest. Some people have the time/ability to make really graphically inventive posters and others don't, so that's kind of an unfair advantage in voting IMO. Having everyone put their lineup on the same template places more of a focus on the acts drafted. Plus, this might sound weird, but I feel like it's easier to judge what "feels" like a realistic Bonnaroo with an actual Bonnaroo poster.

Agreed.
That said, Bonnaroo has a long history of rolling out alternative posters for sale. I think that if you wanted to do the 2021 poster format and a more artistic alternate poster then more power to you.

I personally hate the current Bonnaroo branding / layout so my team decided to improve on it without deviating too much.

I mean, it's ugly as sin but it's the aesthetic that they've embraced for several years now.

I don't like it either (it looks like some 1990 Nickelodeon shit) and I'd be fine if there was a different/better looking style we all used, I just think it should be uniform. Really forces an emphasis on the actual lineup itself and not the branding, which should be the point.
I'm going to say that is an extremely "realistic" lineup on the whole.
other than the complete lack of modern hip hop, it's pretty on point
Haven't been keeping too close tabs on all lineups but Jay Rock, Gibbs, Blu & Exile, Oddisee, Wale, RtJ is a great start for modern hip-hop, and then De La Soul, Common, Digable Planets fills in some great gaps for classic stuff. Awesome hip-hop IMO. Not to mention 2 Chainz, I mean come on.

Is it too late to do this? Require everyone to use the 2020 poster format? We have our own alternate poster we've been working up but I kinda like the idea of everyone's being the same.
All teams are required to present a lineup poster using the 2020 template if they are providing a poster. This can be augmented with an alternative poster.

We need 24 total votes for this, right? (Out of 32 total participants)
I vote yes. I just think that comparing lineups to lineups will be a lot easier if they're all in the same format.

if Wale, Gibbs, and 2Chainz are modern, what do you consider dated? Lol

I think we're working off of two different definitions of "modern." There's modern as in "presently active and still relatively popular" and modern as in "represents a current style."

Are you criticizing the way the lineup is setup over the last 3 years or so, or criticizing my font choices? I honestly don't know - because it's not like making a poster in this format or any is easy - and I'm not starting from scratch.
