oh let me correct, Primavera-type acts. Majority of your Other lineup won’t even be booked by Coachella
what? Tons of them have played Coachella lol. Hope people actually look at our lineup and don’t just believe this phony take.
I think a couple of your Other acts aren’t too far off (Boring, Chaos in the CBD, Galcher, Cirez D, Blondish) but some I have a really hard time seeing at Bonnaroo (Special Request, Python, Palms Trax)... Especially underbilled Amelie Lens playing a 45 minute hard techno set.

yeah I think those first outsider house DJs are a logical step for Bonnaroo to make. The Wooks are getting more and more into that type of electronic. Palms trax tours all over the US all the time so don’t think that’s more unrealistic than those other names. I think DJ Python makes sense as someone we’d target to go along with other reggaeton and Latinx acts boomed for our lineup. Special Request id agree Is probably not happening but to be told we booked a prima/sonar lineup by some dudes that have never been to Bonnaroo (or prima or sonar) is kinda funny.

Python has range, so stylistically I guess he could play the tent. Palms Trax does a dozen tix in Miami (one of the biggest dance markets in the U.S.). Same with Special Request. I couldn’t even see them playing Yuma at Coachella. Bonnaroo is such a stretch.
What is wrong with the headliner situation? NIN is unopposed.
two unopposed headliners with all 4 side stages running in between would be such a mess. Maybe spread those 4 acts around a little? Tell Drake he doesn't get to be unopposed?
I feel like it would be weird to book either Drake or NIN as headliners and schedule them opposed. I don't envision a huge issue with the other four stages playing between because I don't think that there will be a large percentage of festival goers that are going to go from NIN to another act to Drake. I think that they'll sit out NIN or Drake so there won't be a huge crush getting into and out of the What stage.

scheduling NiN unopposed at Roo in 2021 is a pretty big risk, unless its a sunday night headliner where people can just leave early.
Amelie Lens is massive. She’s a $50,000 spend so she would need higher billing + a better slot. Even though she’s more commercial than Palms Trax and Special Request, her music is way too dark and heavy for Bonnaroo. It feels really weird to me.

As in Palms Trax and Special Request only sell a dozen tickets at a club in Miami?

they’re cheap bookings opening the other. It’s not like we’re spending a bunch and relying on them selling a bunch of tickets.
NIN for 2 hours? Who's fantasy idea was that. I'd switch up Drake and NIN. Kid Ink is also never closing The Other, I'd switch them with Bob Moses. Marshmello would be to big for The Other and would thirth or even second on his day.
I like some aspects of this but it really misses some big youth/gen Z names tbh. Zoomers like more stuff than Zedd, Marshmello and King Princess, idk.
NIN playing for two hours is realistic in that their sets are pretty regularly that long and that's what they played when they played Roo before.
Originally Bob Moses was in the Kid Ink slot but then I started playing around on Spotify and Bob Moses is at 1.9M monthly vs 6M for Kid Ink and 3.2M for Young Dolph. It doesn't have to be the be all end all statistic but for a Live Nation festival and The Other in particular I think it makes sense.
We're pretty much keeping our electronic acts on The Other. It's been expanded and we're putting some hip hop and dancey stuff there. (Marshmello is third on his day.)
As far as Zoomer go, I don't know what to tell you. We're not catering exclusively to them but there's stuff for them to see. We even consulted a Zoomer for ideas. (One of which was the much-maligned Deadmau5, btw.)
1. NxWorries 2. Flight Of The Conchords 3. Dom Dolla 4. DJ Python 5. Lady Lamb 6. GUM 7. Galcher Lustwerk 8. A-WA 9. Lilie Mae 10. Jacques Greene 11. Special Request 12. Monophonics 13. Zack Fox 14. Tommy Cash 15. DJ Boring 16. Chaos In The CBD 17. Sessa 18. Ric Wilson 19. Frente Cumbiero 20. Liv.e 21. Ondara 22. Gwen Stefani 23. Ciara 24. Nelly Furtado 25. Kelly Rowland

We have her playing Late Night on the Other, that's about the best slot you can get. And if she's too dark for our attendees they can go see Bad Bunny at the same time. Amelie Lens into Cirez D for 2 hours is pretty sick.
That's depressing. Do you think they only could sell a lot of tickets in spots like NY, LA, and SF in the US?
It depends. I could sell out a Special Request warehouse rave (500 tix) but if he got booked at a venue then it wouldn’t do well. The dynamics of dance music promotion is weird sometimes.

I would give her 2 hours and have her play after Cirez D. It’s sick but it’s not Bonnaroo. That’s a III Points Main Frame run

Writing it like that, it makes it even more sound like a Primavera/Sonar line up lmao.

Interesting. I will say it's cool Space has gotten more diverse in its Terrace bookings with stuff like Four Tet with Ben UFO and Anthony Naples, The Black Madonna, etc., but bummer it's not quite there just yet. Hopefully once the pandemic calms down people will be ready to see even locals like INVT, Nick León, and Truevine on the Terrace.

That Four Tet b2b Ben UFO b2b Anthony Naples is my favorite terrace show we’ve ever done but didn’t really sell well. I think we did like 400 tix total.
