So in trying to make the list with @gno we have some questions about eligility. Is it like usual where a band has to have played in the last 3 years? And having shows booked for this year or next year do not count? Another rule I've always thought is silly. Is that how we're doing it?
Actual question - can we include acts that were supposed to tour in 2020 and got burned? A few have dates in 2021 also. It's not a boatload of acts, but applies to a few that are relevant including RATM. edit: sang posted right before me.

Ok he just came out and said it. There's always another band in question though.

Afaik an act with a show coming up has always been eligible so you didn't need to announce to the thread your plan to draft the band Rage Against the Machine.

Let's be fair, we'd only pick out RATM if we got put on the ropes/someone will try to pick them up fast. They were my best way of illustrating the point
In past bonnaroo drafts, Pepe and I would argue about the goal of the game, and it was generally unclear. Are we drafting the best possible fesitval lineup or should we try to draft a Bonnaroo lineup as if we were actually booking Bonnaroo? Here is Pepe's lineup from last time:
Great fucking lineup in my opinion. But when I'm playing this game with the stated mission of booking a Bonnaroo lineup, I often wondered if Pepe and I were playing the same game. I didn't believe Portishead, Deadmau5, MBV could move tickets at a farm in tennessee with no history of booking a lineup like this. I would expect any of those names to land at 4 or maybe Portishead would be a 3. Underworld wouldn't be 2nd on their day. The lineup seems like a drastic departure to where Bonnaroo would be completely unrecognizable. BBNG is closing the second largest stage before a headliner (Which).
But Pepe's response was that, "nobody's lineup is close to being realistic for Roo and we are just voting on the lineup we like the most." Which was a valid response. And he's also said he'd be interested in trying a draft with a more clearly stated goal where we are at least all aiming at the same vagueish concept.
That does not mean we are all booking dogshit lineups. It just means that we have a slightly more clear goal for the game. You can't use the move to just book no headliners to be able to grab all the best subs without paying any sort of price. I drafted Travis Scott in this same draft because I made the mistake of waiting to long to get my third headliner. I could have just had Sigur Ros headline in that game if I wanted to. In this game it could be argued that booking Sigur Ros as a headliner is an objectively bad move. Though having them play late night would be a great thing. You couldn't effectively make that argument, or any argument outside of personal preference, in past drafts.
The Coachella draft added this element of, "wait I like all these rock bands but you booked no electronic tent at coachella? I'm probably going to dock you for that even though I like the artists on your lineup."
I know you've played previous drafts, so I'm not sure why this needs to be explained to you. But maybe this will help for people that haven't participated previously.
As a side note, I actually wanted to do a iii Points draft where we all tried to book Pepe lineups, but that idea didn't come to fruition and here we are.
and this is where hindsight is 20/20, and i much more see where you were coming from. but the reason this divide really started, was because since the very first game, there were some of us who didn't have that same affinity for roo as a lot of you do (i've never been), but were passionate about the game and the concept, so we just did our own thing. i've very clearly stated in all of those drafts and the one above that this isn't supposed to be a Bonnaroo lineup on any scale, and that it was unfortunate that we had this disagreement in the rules, but we just moved forward and i would always just take my chances in voting, as it almost worked in the very first game. Now like 8 drafts in for many of us, its just simply time to do something with a more defined objective.

Ok, so if/when I put this real Bonnaroo draft for Bonnaroo(rip) lovers only you all don't have to play. I think we'll have enough people that will.

Yep. And neither of were necessarily right or wrong because we didn't have defined rules.
It was called the Bonnaroo Draft, Jortles. You were right.
it was called that but the question posed in voting was "Which of these lineups would you go to", not "Who made the best Bonnaroo lineup", as it should be this time around.

I think there should be a rule that your headliners have to play at least 60 mins unopposed in your schedule. That way you will be judged more harshly if you do something unforgivable like booking Post Malone.

lol this is dope actually. Was thinking about how you could book a shit headliner then do a two hour long Against All Logic set at the same time (schedule template would prevent this also).
