Just realized today I like Drops of Jupiter by Train when it popped up on a playlist... maybe I'm one of the bad people this thread is for, but the orchestration on it is really good fight me

Hey Soul Sister is unforgivable though
musically, Drops of Jupiter is everything wrong with rock/pop music of the late 90s/early 00s.
i always thought it was some cheesy love ballad, but my hatred towards the song softened considerably when i found out Pat Monahan wrote the lyrics about his mom after she died of cancer. furthermore when they play songs that they didn't write they are actually a pretty damn good rock band (i think they did some covers on Stern).
i think they just sort of found a lane and stuck with it and made a shitload of cash. so we can judge them for that but hey, if that's what they wanted to do they achieved it. and if their music makes people happy that aren't as good at liking music as me, so be it. not everyone can be down with the garbage cans falling in a warehouse sound i guess.

She Hates Me and Blurry were my shit when I was like 5
I remember hearing an interview with Wes where he told the story of how he wrote She Hates Me, apparently he came home drunk at 4 am after cheating on his girlfriend and she got mad at him, go figure
Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner let’s remember this iconic performance:
Maybe it is just the prescription speed and “rejuvenating” testosterone I’m on that has my hormones raging, but was Scott Stapp actually hot as hell? Too bad he was such a shit human and part of such a shit band.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

It sucks but I only posted to say that you don’t look like the fighting type.
