Alright I clicked 2018 and now Im stuck there. May have switched to 04 or 05 but idc those three should go consecutively anyways.
You have to unclick the one you selected first
huge discovery props man
My bottom 3
18: Bon Iver x2, Anderson Paak, Sturgill, Chic, Rufus Du Sol, Brockhampton, Chromeo, Broken Social Scene, Jungle, Daniel Caesar, Thundercat, Denzel Curry, Amadou and Miriam, Japanese Breakfast, Gogo Penguin, Chris Lake, Pond, Everything Everything, Trombone Shorty, Westside Gunn and Conway (Billie Eilish ages well but wasnt a factor at the time). Clearly better than 17, obviously, but definitely worth a look now that 17 is gone.
04: The Dead, Bob Dylan?, David Byrne, Wilco, Yo La Tengo, My Morning Jacket, Femi Kuti, Ween, Patti Smith, Primus, Black Keys in 04
05: The Allmans, Black Crowes, Modest Mouse, Herbie Hancock, Mars Volta, Prine, J5, MMJ, De La Soul, Joanna Newsom
One factor that I do want to consider is that it appears that at the old fests, if you didn't have something you were acutely interested in, you could at least expect to find a show with great musicianship that was worth checking out. In 17-18, most of the acts that I didn't list is straight trash and not worth venturing over to.
Another thing about 18 was that you just didn't feel like you were participating in a special event. Same with 17 and to a lesser extent 16. 19 got a little of that back. I imagine that it meant something to be at 04 and 05 especially compared to the rest of the landscape.
The more I looked at 18 the more I hated it. A bunch of those artists put out better stuff after, Sturgil, Dua, Moses.
I was at 2018. Huge blocks of time with nothing great to see. I didn’t go in 2017, but I’d take those top two lines easily over the top three lines in 2018. Neither lineup was good, but I’ve come to think 2018 was worse.
Lol this is new. On the podcast you said Thursday, Friday and Sunday were better in 2017 and the premise of your argument was that Thursday and Sunday don't really count as full days at Bonnaroo. That still puts it at 1-1 anyway.
You like Eminem a lot more than me. I will confess to that.
