Polyphonic spree has never really done anything for me. I'm sure it's more interesting live.
Ya they were new and exciting at the time, but I mostly just clipped them cause it’s one of the few performances from the 2003 dvd that appears to have made it to youtube

James Brown wasn’t trash though. Juggs was just a an angry wook mad he didn’t recreate live at the Apollo note for note. Other than the one song he let his wife song it was great.

If we’re gonna call that James Brown set trash, maybe we should take another look at the year Stevie Wonder headlined “well past his prime” along side DMB and KOL.
I’m just jealous Sonic Youth played Bonnaroo so many more times than I realized before these threads existed. Did anyone go? I never got to see them live.

The first like 15 minutes of his set was just his band vamping while his 90 year old MC kept yelling "Jaaaaaaaaaaaaameeesssssss Broooooooowwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnn" and his back up singers went "James Brown, get up get up". Eventually he took the stage and was barely croaking through his first song. It's possible he got better (I do recall that the song featured on the 2003 documentary sounded good) but I didn't stick around for it.

Radiohead is distracting everyone from the fact 2006 kinda sucks
2006 is better than 2007 but I agree, the legendary Radiohead set overhypes that year as a whole. That said:

is a pretty solid lineup. Nowhere near the best, but easily towards the top of the 00's
2015 is Not Good. See some people talking up the undercard but that lineup is just boring.
Iceage, Mac DeMarco, Courtney Barnett, Jungle, Strand Of Oaks on Thursday seems pretty great.
RTJ, FlyLo and D'Angelo are pretty sweet LNs. Then you have stuff like King Gizz, Jamie xx, Caribou, Pallbearer, SZA, Sturgill Simpson, Kacey Musgraves, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Shabazz Palaces... in the tents seems pretty great aswell.
