idea: what if we all had a list of 10 (or some other agreed upon number) songs that will have special guest performances, since that's a very real part of Coachella. could go with only people from acts that are on your lineup, or we could all just agree to just let people use each others artists for this very minimal part of the game. think it would be worth it to add an extra level of creativity to the game.
I think you should be able to do both like max five guests come from other lineups but the rest need to be from your own. Also think 10 is a high number
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

I don't think it makes a ton of sense to formally announce guest spots beforehand; part of the fun when they actually happen is the surprise element. That being said, if you want to draft and build your lineup in such a way that encourages speculation for special guests, I think that should be encouraged

yeah that could make sense.
i feel like Coachella usually has at least a dozen noteworthy guest performances every year, i'd really be down for any number though.

so is the setlist an artist plays but we've had people create plenty of those.
i just think it would be a fun little bit to add when we drop our posters / schedules and what not.
I think you've got to spend the pick to get the name.
agree with this 99% of the time, just think this is the one draft where we could shake that aspect up a little bit, being Coachella and all.
I think the other problem is that there are both full groups and affiliated solo acts in the same pool. Biter picks would become way more valuable if you could just draft Big Boi and say "also Andre will be there."

Special guests aren’t ever on the posters or schedules though.

It would be fun if we designed setlist for the headliners that included special guests from any lineup, but not as something to be on the poster or to have any real weight

we could do it in a structured way that keeps it fair. that's where the limited amount of slots would come in, say you'd only get 8 songs/collabs, and could only use a borrowed artist once per set. Although Big Boi isn't actually on the list, if he hypothetically was and someone wanted to use one of their 8 collabs to bring out Andre for Hey Ya or Ms Jackson, i'd personally be fine with that as the owner of Outkast.

obviously.
there's clearly no way to do this in the surprise fashion it happens in real life. but its a big part of coachella that is worth including in the game. that's all im saying.

to be clear, what im suggesting is something like this if the 2016 lineup was one of our fantasy lineups
1. Calvin Harris - Rihanna joins for We Found Love 2. Flume - Vince Staples joins for Smoke & Retribution 3. Disclosure - Sam Smith joins for Omen 4. Ice Cube - Dr Dre joins for California Love 5. Major Lazer - Nyla joins for Light it up

not just "i draft x and y will also be there"
I think we get what you are saying. I still wouldn’t want anyone on my lineup to guest spot on anyone else’s and vice versa. I get that it’s just a bonus spot but it is still a bonus potentially based on someone else’s talent. Our imaginations will have its way when voting anyways, but I think if you want to make an emphasis you should draft all of the artists involved.
Edit: like I have TCV and Iggy. One could probably assume that they would do some Post Pop Depression. I don’t think I need to advertise since it’s implied

yeah im gonna do it regardless with people from my lineup as i've already got a few really nice collabs. trust me i do understand not wanting to see anyone else get value from what you've used draft capital on, i guess im just confident enough with what i've got that im willing to share the wealth

Cool idea, but no rule changes anymore. Also not everyone get to share their posters or schedules, so this could ideally only happen only after the lineups are complete (i.e. only for Top 6).
I'm unclear on the transition between 6-hour timeframes and 3-hour ones.
Truevine picked at 6:16 Eastern (was supposed to wait until 6:36), so why doesn't KPO get six hours? Seems like KPO should at least get three hours, starting at 9 AM, which would mean time's up at noon rather than 12:16, (or 12:36) the case if it was the full six hours.
Time of Pick: 6:01 AM - 9:00 AM --> Time of Expiration: 12:00 PM. Time of Pick: 9:01 AM - 9:00 PM --> Time of Expiration: 3 hours after the time of pick. Time of Pick: 9:01 PM - 6:00 AM --> Time of Expiration: 6 hours after the time of pick.
