So I just did a deep dive into why Black Star is cancelled and I think it amounts to Kweli trying to kiss someone from his label in 2014 and getting banned from Twitter this year for getting in a long argument with a woman. Really bizarre reaction here considering Black Star have like a 2-decade history of making socially conscious music and some good political activism.

I didn't quite understand why Pepe Silvia took them off in the end tbh. Both piggy pablo and TOSTIE said they were fine to me when I asked them about them and when they got picked I merely just said that they were the act I was referencing to so idk. Was busy with school stuff at the time aswell so I didn't really up on that..

Ah. Yeah I think Talib has some sexual harassment and manipulation allegations going back a couple years, but no one seemed to care before, iirc.
His Twitter account was banned because of some messages he sent to a woman, for which he was accused of cyber harassment. Not sure if people are worried about that or they're just falling because they aren't a huge name.
This is the extent of what I said about Black Star. My point wasn't that I think they are not cancelled or that I don't have a problem with them personally but rather that I wasn't sure if those incidences accounted for their fall to that point in the draft.
