Jayz as headliner
any help on billing would be appreciated. Theres a few I cant make up my mind on
I mean.. You already have like two headliners in your undercard, idk what you're gonna do with that if Jay-Z is your only headliner as of now. But I'd bill it like this, it's probably a bit all over the place cause this line-up so far doesn't really say it's a Coachella line-up. It misses a lot of pop and rap.
Calvin doesnt need to Headline as shown by this year and The Weeknd played after Jack on the main stage before so he already kind of did the coheadline thing. I abolustely think he can sub. Also I dont really understand the not feeling like a coachella lineup when its made from all coachella acts. Its not being built for coachella 2021 so it doesnt need to look like that. As long as it sells well and represents the variety of coachella with cool acts
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Jack White headlined, The Weeknd probably demanded to close of the mainstage or else. He didn't sub.
Well, the combination of 'the acts that have played Coachella' makes it not really look like a Coachella-line up to me so far. For now, it doesn't represent 'the variety of coachella with cool acts', but that can change as I've suggested.

I think he played after Jack White because his show was better suited for the dark and they used him in the same way they used other EDM mainstage closers.
as an outsider, I find the strategic decision to wait for Phase II for a headliner or not to be pretty interesting. there's a couple acts that could be cool headliners in that phase but the pickings do get slim quickly

As someone planning on picking a phase 2 headliner, I just think it would be cooler seeing a Coachella without all repeat headliners

There are a more than a few people right now who need a certain type of headliner, and only a few of those types available in Phase II. I'd expect the early part of the first round to be a blood bath.

Hm, interesting. That's probably true and a smart way to think about it, but I don't think I would punish a lineup for having repeat headliners considering this is supposed to be a Coachella draft.

I don't know what this draft's rules are for mentioning artists, but there is one specific artist that I think 4 or 5 lineups could use

agreed on not punishing lineups for having only repeat headliners, this just seems like a perfect opportunity to bring in a big name they haven't had before

You mean, like a rap headliner or something? Cause those are always scarce in drafts tbh.

I still like the idea of a draft where you have to pick 3 headliners and you can only pick prior Coachella headliners.
issue with that is that the person who gets pick 20 of 20 gets screwed two times: gets the worst #1 headliner and gets the worst headliner period.
There have been something like 51 distinct Coachella headliners, so limit it to 16 teams. Then you have a snake draft, with headliners being drafted in the first three rounds. So yeah, team #16 might not have the best headliner, but they'll have two mid-level ones. Then they'll have the last headliner selected but they'll get the first pick at an undercard. I think it could work.
