What i do now is make playlists of the setlist. If its a band that changes the setlist every night, I'll keep updating it. So I will listen to what they're playing in the weeks leading up to the show. I don't listen on the way to the show though, I treat that just like wearing the shirt of the band I'm seeing.
I go back and forth on wanting setlist spoilers or not. Like, I looked at them for Roger cuz I didn't care about new stuff at all and used it for beer breaks. A lot of times I want to avoid them, but sorta can't help myself. Or maybe if I'm gonna split sets at a festival I'll want to know, like how Tame don't really do their best stuff toward the end, or how Billie Eilish opens with bad guy (lame, don't care) but closes with when the party's over and bury a friend (great, the songs I want to see).
1. Sia - Cheap Thrills 2. Beyonce & Jay Z - Drunk in Love 3. I Know There's Going To Be (Good Times) - Jamie xx & Young Thug 4. RL Grime - UCLA 5. Gesaffelstein & Pharrell - Blast Off 6. Glass Animals & Denzel Curry - Tokyo Drifting

I can't control it. I want to be surprised but I can't stop myself from checking. I have a very nerdy interest in what bands are playing. I track every show I've ever been to on setlist.fm

I will watch Radiohead setlists get updated live on setlist.fm but that's the only band I'm that weird about.
Before setlist.fm was a thing I kept track of a Mastodon show to tell my friends what it was. Only so many bands could I name every song from memory. I couldn't do this with Mastodon anymore.

Radiohead is fun to watch because they mix it up. Pearl Jam, MMJ and Clutch are also like that for me because you never know what they're going to play. I'll follow Tool setlists, even though they only change a couple songs a night. It is really cool when you do follow like that and you still get surprised. Like Tool playing Intolerance last time I saw them.

Yeah I looked up Tool on this tour and was bummed going in that they weren't doing Ascending. I knew they were doing Part of Me on some stops, but was still super stoked when they played it.
Will you let every second of every song play though?
I would. Maybe there are a couple minutes I could cut from a couple songs so that they're only one chorus and one verse, but it's a relatively short playlist to begin with.
I was thinking of making a mix if I really needed to get it down to twenty minutes, though.
A$AP Rocky - Fuckin Problems Beastie Boys - Intergalactic The Strokes - Reptilia Usher - U don’t have to call Old Dirty Bastard - Got Your Money Ludacris - What’s Your Fantasy
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
