I've always wanted to go to NFF.
So back in 2011, I proposed a meetup for Inforooers in the Northeast and Fawn decided to host at her/Quacker's place. So it ended up being called Quack Club.
And yeah, NFF is great. Def try and come out, and spend some extra time for more of the RI experience. I hope it comes back for next year though. Right now, we're the Covid capital of the world.
So the last time I went to Bonnaroo was in 2012. During Phish I ran into Scrog and LLL somewhere in the back of What field. We all ended up leaving for the RV area, and then met up with a bunch of people. And then I ended up drinking some beers with Kdogg and I don't remember too much. I'm not sure if SFA was there or not. I do remember Kdogg, Mike D, Popsicle Sarah, and Mayo.
Of course me and rummy back to being on the opposite side

it is honestly Ridiculous at this point tho. We’ve played upwards of 20 games together and ONE TIME were both town , I think literally all other times we’ve been in opposition

I don't mind shorting rounds but you need to agree to some standards of time. Like make it plain ahead of time for one. We didn't know we only had 1/4 of the usually time until like 1pm that day. If we'd known ahead of time maybe we could of planned ahead better? I don't know. Most of the action happened that morning.
But either way, Ref's can tinker with the timing obviously. If a round ends at noon maybe give people until midnight to get stuff turned in? Then you can go ahead and start it early an hour or so after things get in. 6 hours isn't always enough time to coordinate and hear back from people... especially during the work day.
This was fucking bullshit. Like I had to stop myself a couple time from just posting in the thread and saying the game has been fucked up and should just end.
I was not a fan of the shorter rounds. I especially would not have been a fan if I were Mafia. I can see why that was probably frustrating.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

This game was unusual. Im fine with a shorter day 1 because Day 1s are usually boring. Theo got his guess right and LLL had an out of this world read on LD. If it wasn't for both of those factors aligning it's going to Day 5 again with a lot of interesting variables to look at on day 1 (my switch and pestering of Maddog, LDs move to save himself, Potent and Jaz doubling up on LD).
We've had 2-3 Town domination games now, but I don't think everyone should be down on Mafia because of that. This game still has the potential to produce unrivaled moments of stimulation where I'm laying up all night thinking about it.
There are certainly tedious, boring and frustrating moments and even games, but I'm always surprised by how long it takes to get 11 people signed up.

If it wasn't for both of those factors aligning it's going to Day 5 again with a lot of interesting variables to look at on day 1 (my switch and pestering of Maddog, LDs move to save himself, Potent and Jaz doubling up on LD).
We've had 2-3 Town domination games now, but I don't think everyone should be down on Mafia because of that. This game still has the potential to produce unrivaled moments of stimulation where I'm laying up all night thinking about it.

Agreed. Even with this game, until I was whacked N3, I kept running through things in my mind. I like this as a hobby and I wish we had an easier time getting people to sign up. That's why I asked Teddy what we could do to improve.
I do think there's something to the timing of the games, but it goes both ways. It took forever to kickstart Day Four of this game, and those moments that turn into interminable hours where nobody posts seem to happen frequently to me.
Anyway, hope we get people signed up again for the new game.

Agreed on all fronts. Sometimes I need a break when I've played quite a few back to back (like at the beginning of quarantine), but with the multiple months of break, I was excited to pick back up!
But it is so hard to draw new blood into playing And thus really hard to find the numbers to get another game going... especially if Teddy is bouncing now and SFA doesn't want to do another too.
