Samuel was taking the loss hard, felt very sad for him, but was really cool seeing Odell getting in his ear and talking deebo up. he also looked incredibly happy walking away, sort of find myself liking him again.
also crazy that Andrew Whitworth is trying to cap out his year 40 season against the team he played with for a decade. OL isn't a sexy media position but it should get touched on

I feel really happy for Stafford. But salty that the Rams will play for a Super Bowl in LA. Won't do the Chargers any favors trying to acquire fans in the city.

Fortunately we will hear about this game from every possible angle for the next two weeks.
Has anyone here ever been to a Super Bowl before? And if so, is the experience worth it? A Super Bowl has always been on my bucket list, and this is probably the cheapest year I can go until they host it in LA again. (I live in Long Beach so I don't have to pay for flights, hotel, or even parking). But tickets in general are quite pricey. I'm a Baltimore Ravens fan so I always wanted to wait until we returned to the SB to finally go, but Im born and raised in Long Beach, CA so I do root for the Rams on the side because they're local. Dr. Dre halftime in LA is also a big incentive for me to go this year. Basically that plus not having to pay for travel. But yeah if anyone can share their SB experiences I'd love to read about it!

personal experience of recent Superbowl is the concert series are dank, but the ticket prices are insane
just feels like unless you're balling out of control or dying it'll be more fun hosting a party or hitting a bar
parking/ubering around town is a nightmare, especially considering the SoFi parking prices, but generally roads are shut down, etc.
if it's YOUR team it might be worth it but I can't imagine the cost is worth the value especially w LA likely to get more SBs in the future

I'd mostly like take the metro to get to Inglewood from LB or see if someone can drop me off somewhere in the vicinity to avoid ubers lol But appreciate the feedback! The prices are absolutely nuts, the service fees alone are about 1200. I'll probably make it a last minute decision I'm pretty torn
This wouldnt have even happened if LA didnt have its covid restrictions and the NFL wasnt going to have an empty stadium for their most important game so they shuffled Tampa around instead of playing at Sofi last year. Im sure in 2 years McDaniels is gonna have insane pressure to get The Raiders to the SB in Vegas.

You might have to wait til the day before or morning of and see if some random person is willing to dump a ticket for a normal price. When the Meadowlands had the SB there were reports of people selling tix day of for $100. Granted resale is much diff then it was 8 years ago but still, with nosebleeds being over 5k its a tough thing to decide on.
Dodgers taking out the Giants and Rams taking out the Niners in the playoffs... me gusta. "bEaT La" lol
The Dodgers didnt win the championship after beating The Giants, though.
Not winning a title sucks but it's going to happen to every team except one every year. Doesn't take away the joy from beating your rival tho. Giving SF teams L's is always nice, but especially in the playoffs.

The sad thing is the 5500 nose bleeds are the official ticket prices, not resale prices. I've actually seen resale tickets on ticketmaster cheaper than the official prices already. Not for the nose bleeds but in the middle sections. But yeah if I see a ticket come down at least half price then I'll jump on it.
Even though the Dodgers didn't win this past season, it'd be pretty nuts to get the Dodgers, Lakers, Rams to all win championships in a 2 season span.

Chargers never stood a chance at getting new fans. LA being a mostly Raider city, you have better luck converting Raider fans into Rams fans. Raiders fans just naturally hate the Chargers as divisional rivals. Chargers should have never came here, no one wanted them, the mayor didn't even want them. They only came so they didn't have to pay for their own new stadium.
I really wish the Chargers went to Vegas as a tourist attraction and the Raiders came back to LA. I personally don't have anything against the Chargers but I've seen how their fan base was in San Diego and it wasn't much better than it is now. Kind of like the Clippers to where they really should have just left the state.
They have Herbert going for them, but even then, I think that'll attract the neutral fan to Chargers games to watch Herbert, but not root for the Chargers themselves.

I think you're pretty on point. I wish they could've just stayed in San Diego.

i haven't personally been, but my dad went to super bowl 40 in detroit (he's a steeler fan) and my best friend went to 52 in minny (he's an eagles fan). their "was it worth it" was more determined by the outcome of the game than any sort of extras that go into the the super bowl. i've never been to an nfl game as a neutral fan, but i can't imagine the super bowl being that much more fun than a regular season game to justify the get in the door price imo.

This seems about right. I went to a Saints-49ers game as a neutral fan and it was fine. I can't imagine feeling that the experience of seeing two teams that I don't root for play in the Super Bowl would be worth $5K+ per ticket.
NFL games are already easier to follow on TV before you factor in how intrusive the Super Bowl production must be in person. I've got to imagine that the halftime show has to be hard to enjoy as well. You miss out on commercials. The food's not going to be as good at the game as it would be at home.

I went last year for a lot of the same reasons. My family lives in Tampa so I had a place to stay and had lots of Southwest points so the flight was covered. Got to see my team play at home. It was pricey, but I don't regret it at all. It was a pretty awesome experience.
Rams are -4 and opened at -3.5 (per DraftKings). Rams opened up at -190 (you have to bet $190 to win $100), and the Bengals at +160 (win $160 on a $100 bet). O/U opened up at 50, but I don't know if that's still where it is.

Glad you enjoyed it since it's likely to be a while before you get to see them playing for a title again.

Me too! Now it's back to the season being over by October and looking forward to top ten draft picks.

Haha. I wonder what happens with the division. Loomis said he's not blowing up the roster, so if we can get some consistent QB play, we might be okay. You guys still have a strong roster, and the Falcons are better on paper than what their record was - but they seem to have perennially underachieved since the Patriots castrated them. I don't think the Panthers are any better than they have been the last couple of years.

I think the division games are the easiest on the schedule next year. We still have a solid roster as do the Saints. It's all going to come down to QB I think.
