he was great last year and had a couple 4k seasons in Miami, but never throwing to anyone near Julio's current level of skill/talent so should be good. better for AJ brown and Henry really too.
He had a 64 & 78 QBR with TN with Arthur Smith. With all of his previous OC's he had between a 33 and a 59. I'm not sure that Todd Downing is the guy to get the most out of him, though he'll certainly have the best weapons of his career.

he was 4th in qbr this year (just a hair behind Allen) so I imagine he gets a bump this year

That's the question. Has he improved or was it Smith's scheme? We'll see.
(Note: I'm admittedly biased against him after watching him roll up a 4-7 record against some pretty mediocre Bills teams before going to TN.)
didn't even seem like they gave up that much, I guess being able to take on the majority of his contract was something not everyone could do but I can't imagine unhappy guys like Rodgers/Wilson see that and think wow there's no way we could've made that trade
*I think a 2nd and the swap next year is a decent haul, more just that, it's not like Tenn backed up a truck

You also have to realize the mess Thomas Dimitroff left in Atlanta. We didn't even have the cap to sign our draft class this year. Most Atlanta fans are crying but I'm more than okay with it.
Julio is a luxury that the Falcons can't afford and he wanted out so To get a 2nd and 4th for him and not have to cover any of his contract is a huge win for the front office imo. A lot of money for an injury-prone albeit game-changing all-pro WR. Makes sense for a contender with plenty of cap space, but for Atlanta, it just isn't feasible.

yeah I'm just wondering if the Titans being able to eat more of the money gave them the edge over a team like the Seahawks

It just sorta makes one wonder - if that was the plan, then why did they take a TE at #4 overall when the second best QB prospect fell out of the top 10?

Ryan makes too much and theyre doing the reverse of what they did at the beginning of his career. When he got drafted they had Tony Gonzalez at Tight End which was a great thing for a rookie. Not he is getting towards the end and was given a potential gamebreaker such as Pitts which is a big help. until he doesnt have a 4,000 yard 25+ td season there is no reason to draft a qb yet. There hasnt been some insane dropoff in production yet. He isnt Drew Brees where the noodle arm just kicked in 2 years ago and he became a liability
