No. I think as soon as he's activated he goes on the commissioner's exempt list pending resolution of the allegations and then a suspension.
the suit is moved to February or something though, league has been really quiet on the situation so idk I could see them suspending him for 2022 instead
They haven't had to do anything because the Texans haven't activated him and he said he wouldn't play for them if activated. A trade forces the league's hand. No way they let someone credibly accused of 22 sexual assaults suit up until they know how that's getting resolved.

Yeah this is why I’m wondering why the dolphins would even be interested right now

wonder if he'd agree to some kind of cap restructure or if Miami would ask the Texans to pay a chunk on his way out

Deshaun has been on the active roster for at least two games this season. As far as I know, he still is. He's sitting because he wants out. He would be sitting regardless.

Because their owner really wants it to happen and now they have leverage and little competition.

Eligibility aside, I can't believe a team is even okay with rostering a player with that many accusations (and pending lawsuits) in 2021. Innocent until proven guilty, but 22 is a lot of people. I wouldn't want a player with those kind of character issues on my team regardless, not to mention the bad publicity that will come along with it if he is guilty. And to actively seek him out and trade away your second year top 5 pick for a complete wildcard where the situation is out of your hands? Deshaun is good at football, but he's not at the very top tier of QBs that would make that type of gamble worth it, imo. All I know is if the Texans pull this trade off it will be the best front office move they made in a long time.

He definitely is in the top tier of QBs, to say nothing of the rest of your points. And he's on a team-friendly deal relative to what Dak and Josh Allen got.

I agree with the sentiment that nobody should be giving up assets to make him the face of their franchise at this time.
I'm not convinced he's going to get traded for multiple 1sts
Houston would look really bad after letting it be known that they were seeking three firsts and multiple twos or threes. I think it was reported they even turned down three ones and three threes.
He saves them for baseball right now. Although he will have to miss an NFL game next week because of the World Series. So we’ll see who Aikman gets partnered with.
Joe Buck is fine lol I don't get why so many people act like he's bad.
I liked his dad, and I’m not negatively disposed toward him. He had some forced banter a couple times that seemed b rate / dude you’re trying too hard. Maybe it wasn’t as weak as Denver’s rushing defense, but I noticed it.
Dan - yeah but I love Thursday games. I wish they had games every day.

If you say he had a bad night I have no reason not to believe you. It just seems like a meme that he's a bad announcer. I've heard people that don't even watch football say it.
