now that I'm not mafia I feel more comfortable talking about it, but I was praying you'd get people to do it last game it's so bad on so many levels.
-known votes for themselves/skips vote -runoff is played with 6 town and 2 unknown mafia, while one person actively tanks participating -at which point the revote will be the known mafia. -any vote is completely unreliable. maybe they vote for a mafia member and everyone goes opposite, maybe they vote town and everyone calls the bluff. maybe the rest of the runoff is both town and then you waste tons of time wondering who the known didn't vote for a status
this is all without even considering they could vote for anyone and of points 2 and 4 still apply.

he specifically discussed himself doing it as mafia last game. not an endorsement either way towards his status but I'm leaning towards projection
yeah that’s what I would’ve done. If it was a runoff, I would’ve checked the rules to see if I could flat out not vote or just null vote. Just not a fan of the strategy, I think once town gets off course, it never ends well (see: Mafia 126)
" g) A single day in game play can include several round closings. A missed vote in any rounds of a day count as a missed vote. If a player misses two votes, not two days, they are out of the game regardless of how good the reason. A second missed vote will result in Player X's 'auto-exile'". When the Referee declares a player as having missed two votes that player will be declared the day kill. Voting will cease, the two-vote-miss player is dead, and the Night round will begin. The removed player will also be suspended from participating in the following game."
you definitely get a missed vote and yeah it just results in that player having a revote the next round
