History:
The proclamation of the German Empire( Deutsche Reichsgründung) happened in 1871. In what world famous building did this event occur?
Bonus question: 3 short wars provoked by Otto Von Bismark are said to have lead to the unification. The first was the obscure Second Schleswig War against Denmark. What other two nations did Germany fight on the path to their unification?
Alex Da Kid used Imagine Dragons for inspiration for this Broadway musical.. but ultimately their most successful single in the band's history was not used..
What was that musical though..
I only know this because of Twitter and I had no clue Alex Da Kid was involved.

When I was a grad student in Knoxville, I once won us the trivia night at Buffalo Wild Wings on the strip by answering this question - "name all 8 countries mentioned in Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire."

Spider-Man
Yep. I thought I was some kind of expert on Turn Off the Dark cuz I've listened to podcasts and YouTubes about it but had never heard about this. Makes Radioactive make a little more sense, but still not very much.

Ethiopia being the second most-populous African country was the Jeopardy final the other day. They also mentioned it being landlocked now while previously not having been (because of Eritrea). None of the players got it, iirc.

I pick up so much useless info on Twitter that I never fully research myself.
Someone answer my German history question, bitches. I took it strait from Revolutions.
I've read the answer to Alex's before. Older movie, like 40s or 50s, I think.

The Reichstag
France and Russia?
Nope. The bonus question could hint to it happening outside the borders of Germany.
France is correct. The 3rd war was the Franco-Prussian War.
1. Denmark 2. ?? 3. France
Earlier I said the Dutch instead of the Danes. My bad.

If that was a real question... Early 2000s. According to it not being there when I was there but it being there around the time Eddie Izzard released Dressed to Kill.
Something in Paris - the Lourve, Notre Dame...Versailles? Lots of stuff there.
Versailles is correct. In The Hall of Mirrors. The end of the war with France lead to France relinquishing control of Alsace and the German speaking parts of Lorainne. These areas would be contested again in WW1.

Did anyone else play trivia with Andy Key in Knoxville from 2006-2008?
In January 2007, my fellow Ph.D. candidate Goose and I went to BWW to watch a Pitt basketball game. Little did we know, Monday night was trivia night with Andy Key at the Bdubs. The format of the game had 4 rounds with 4 questions each round, and then a "final Jeopardy" type of question. Each round progressed in pts. So round one was 4 five point questions. Round two 4 ten point questions, 3 was 4 fifteen pt, 4 was 4 twenty pt.
We entered Final Jeopardy with by far the lowest score, maybe 95 pts when the next lowest was like 120 or so. We wagered all the points with the category "music", and then the question - "Name all 8 countries listed in the Billy Joel song." Well, I had sung that song at a talent show in 4th grade (it was controversial, some of my classmates claimed I skipped "British Politician Sex" but I definitely didn't). We nailed all 8, the only to get it, and we won a $50 gift card to BWW. Then, the guy at the table next to us for some reason ordered a bunch of slices of chocolate cake that was served piping hot with vanilla ice cream, and he gave us two slices of what we dubbed "victory cake". Thus, a trivia legend in Knoxville was born.
Our trivia team, "Mr. Brownstone", dominated the Knoxville trivia scene for the next year. January 2008-May 2008 we had an especially impressive run. Our team grew to be 3-6 regulars, and we were hated in town. We stopped into Cool Beans one night and I heard someone across the bar sneer about me - "Ugh, that's the captain of Mr. Brownstone".
The gal who was the captain of our chief rival and I had a night one night. I took her home and she said "you don't think I'm going to have sex with you". She then kissed me, got out, and went home to her boyfriend apparently.
I play online on Friday nights. Features some regulars in the area. Google meet for video and submit answers on Facebook messenger. Had teammate(s) for a little while, but the main one recently dropped for personal reasons.
