The Coachella tease earlier and multiple artists confirming they’re playing as of late is the kind of activity you’d see before a lineup drop. I’ve mentioned here before an early lineup drop is possible.
With so many other fests/tours announcing earlier and earlier it was bound to happen eventually. A year when you already have a lot of your names locked it makes it an easy one to make the switch

Does SHM as a headliner even make sense from a mainstream pop booking perspective? I feel like the majority of SHM's peak was mostly Big Room EDM that's almost entirely outdated at this point? Its not even a reunion because they 'reunited' recently at Ultra.
Such a crazy shift to go from Frank Ocean to SHM for the last headliner...

It's been more than 20 months since they've dropped a lineup, I don't expect a full drop this early but yeah, it's possible.
Highly unlikely that they are headliners on a poster. But I can see them closing the main stage after Rage (like many assumed Calvin was doing) and I'd be totally fine with that to be honest. I used to love SHM back in the day and never got to see them so I'm down. It's a big get regardless of personal opinion, they have a huge fanbase and haven't played in a long time.
SHM aside, this is really interesting because it's a deviation from the usual Coachella lineup announcement formula. Do you guys think this is indicative of more confirmations to come, just some weird one off confirmation for the last headliner, or is SHM not even headlining?
Feels more like a one off confirmation since SHM started releasing the dates for their world tour on instagram yesterday
Still can't believe they are playing Metlife Stadium.

if this was SHM's first show since the breakup, then I could see them as headliners maybe...but they reunited in 2018 and played a bunch of shows in 2018/19, so there's not even some exclusivity angle. guessing they're a #2
