They really fucked main stage beer garden even harder this year. Bummer.
first time attendee this year and i'm def least excited about the whole beer garden thing and not being able to walk around with a beer
Not being able to walk around with a beer is annoying to first time goers but man, it makes the grounds so much better. I hate walking around on a solid surface of plastic cups or getting beer spilled on me at other fests.
I think the funniest takeaway is how adamant we all were (myself very much included) that Daniel Caesar and Joji were waste of second line space, over billed, losing steam, blah blah blah
Also - big big big numbers to the EDM acts. Not just Duke Dumont and LTC, but acts like Fatboy Slim and Duck Sauce still comfortably on the third line, Lane 8, Tchami. I remember people saying Disclosure and Flume were retread bookings and yet here we are - potential for huge crowds. I am not sure the hard pivot away from EDM in the Sahara was a great move booking wise. I definitely don't think a huge return to rock is the future of the fest but I do think they are leaving money on the table by not courting the EDC crowd as much as they used to.
Arcade Fire is small but then again they've only had a day to accumulate the likes in the app that the other acts have had three months to do. I think they'll pack the Mojave.
And of course this could all be bullshit and I've wasted my time responding to it.

somebody else said this on reddit and i've really never experienced it in 20 festivals lol
Based on those adds I’m curious if a reverse situation happens where there’s a lot of people who show up for CRJ since she’s on so early and then leave before Arcade Fire.

You will hate it your first few Coachellas and then realize it is awesome. Whether it is actually good or just stockholm syndrome is of course up to interpretation but I get annoyed when people are spilling drinks at festivals now and wish they all had beer gardens.

Biking/walking question. We have a house east of the fest by ave 50. Looks like there’s no access from the right on ave 50 or 51. Does that mean we have to go all the way down to polo road and then up to arrive/depart? Or do walkers/bikers get access to the above roads?

In 2019, there was a foot entrance/exit that spills right onto Monroe and Country Club Drive. It’s a pretty sizable walk to the fest gates from there though, you pass by all of day parking and the Uber pickup, but at least you know you’re in Coachella grounds already!

yeah, they definitely lock down the no access\no pedestrian closures. they will make you go around for sure.
A user on Reddit claims to have sorted the acts by the amount of schedule additions on the app - no idea how he would get this data but also this is a lot of work for a joke.
If this is remotely true I would get to Purple Disco Machine super early...
