Out of curiosity, how did weekend 2 attendance feel relative to the past few years? I imagine just about the same or a bit higher?
I’m only comparing to past W1’s but it felt generally as crowded, though I wasn’t in any packed sets. Harry, Madeon, and Carly were probably the biggest crowds I was in but it felt comfortable where we were.
Last week I stayed til it was over and when I got to my car there was already a mess. I started walking out when Lizzo was done and he said 4 songs left. Still heard Watermelon Sugar from the back. I got to my car when he was finishing and saw the fireworks. No problems getting out. Its deceiving cause if there were lots of people leaving but they were in the farthest part of 15. And that emptied out onto Monroe. That was different than last week when they just had everyone leave the way they came in. So if you were in that lot it couldve been it. I had seen a bunch of cars already gone where I was so maybe some people just made sure to avoid it at all costs.
I just checked their instagram. They posted the guests early on.
What lot were you in? We were in 1B and they had us exit onto AVE 49 via the way we came in. Is their another exit out of 1B? Just trying to avoid this mess tonight.
15C. I think youre stuck with 1B cause of ride share traffice. If youre parking on the north end of the grounds go to 2A.

Both fridays felt busier and more full. Today and tomorrow are the real ones to gauge. Cause when I parked last saturday the lot had 5 cars in it. Yesterday had about 3 rows worth already just after 12. Harry styles effect and day 1. Everyones prob dead from getting home late.
Did find out how bad merch really got? Like the people who did brave that line out the tent? I seemed to have been the shortest during harry but thats it. Likely an hour wait still.
Gobi is definitely a bit smaller so everything feels more packed. Marias still had a full crowd during their later time slot and there were a lot of people at The Avalanches too

How have sound issues been so far? Weekend 1 seemed to be plagued by a lot of in ear monitor issues (King Gizz), clipping (Dave), and random mic issues (beabadoobee). Way more sets had issues than just those examples. First time going weekend 1 after a decade and the sound issues were no joke.
Also, to anyone looking for respite from the heat: if you go to the far right side of Sonora, there were AC vents pumping at the front and back of the raised couch area. At the front, you can post up on the couch/beanbags and have AC blowing right on you. Rear vents were good for dancing while keeping cool.

Not much to say here that hasn’t already been said. We didn’t get in until about 7:00 (wife and I worked that morning and drove up from San Diego after). Getting in was a breeze but the locker situation was pretty insane, so that took a while. There weren’t too many artists I was committed to seeing yesterday so I rolled with Mrs. vinegar and her friends. Stand outs were run the jewels, baby keem, big sean (was way more fun that thought), and king gizz. Our shuttle left the grounds at exactly 1:42am so not too bad there, but god damn it was cold last night.
Overall Coachella number 5 has been a blast. The grounds are immaculate and every show went off without a hitch. Can’t ask for much more than that. See y’all in there!

No sound issues anywhere for me. Mika specifically called out that some of the speakers and his ear monitor weren’t working W1 and he was clearly happier with the setup this weekend. The video board delays were annoying though.

The Avalanches was the only set that felt crowded IMO. Everything else felt pretty light from my vantage point.
MEUTE and Idles stuck out as the best sets of the day. Other notable sets were MIKA, Spiritualized, The Avalanches, Gizzard, and Ela Minus even though she had technical issues at the beginning.
Ready for it to warm up today, because last night was cold!

I think it was more noticeable to me last week on the videos. But it still existed yesterday. Dont know whats up with that. Main stage still sounded killer from the 3rd delay towers, though. I heard clipping during Ari Lennox and Niki was sort of weird cause it was bordering on distorting for some reason. Harry had no low end at the beginning but that was sorted that a few songs in. And I think Sonora had better sound yesterday.

That’s great to hear because I’ve been lobbying my group to switch back! I think the in ear monitors were the most common issue I saw. Which kind of makes sense given that the mixing settings for monitors can probably be saved between weekends. Literal sound check weekend.
That’s a bummer about the display latency though. I don’t recall noticing that weekend 1. Can be just as distracting as sound issues depending on the act and your spot in the crowd, so hopefully it’s better today! Happy day 2!

Full disclosure, Supre might be a better judge of the weekend 1 video delay than me. I’m usually dancing with my eyes closed or trying to figure out what gear everyone is using if I am watching.
On a related note, the Crumb jam sections with that new SP-404 were phenomenal. Highly recommend that set for Sunday. Was worried they would play their songs straight up and it might be boring. Was not boring at all!
Really enjoyed PDM, Idles, Avalanches and King Gizz. Really did not enjoy the time it took to leave day parking 1B. This is our 4th time here and never had an issue leaving before. Oh well, other than that it was a fantastic day with great weather.
Amazing day yesterday. Walked 18 miles total and I feel old this morning. Jayda G, PDM, Carly, amyl, cordea, rtj, keem, Harry. Really good sets from everyone. Spicy Pie and umami Burger, both good fuel. Blows my mind that there are no bathrooms in the beer barn area. Day 2, let's go!

I did not go this year but I feel like they have been there but been unmarked many years in the past - you have to go past the Cantina. I looked back at older maps and they haven't been on the maps for years but I know I've used them so many years in the past.
