So we're currently going into Mafia 140 so it'll be a couple of months before we get to Mafia 150. Now is a good time though to figure out what we want the rules to be and how many people we want in the game. For those who don't know mafia 100 had double the participants, mafia members and inspectors. We can do that again or go a different direction all togther or somewhere in between. Up to you guys.
25 Players 6 Mafia 2 Inspectors 1 Doctor 1 Vigilante
Inspectors Inspectors will receive the same given name to start the game. Each Inspector will be unknown to the other Inspector. Both inspectors will receive nightly guesses. The ref will provide the specific role of the guess, i.e. doctor, townie, Mafia, Inspector. Under no circumstances can inspectors privately coordinate with the each other. All other normal Inspector rules still apply.
Doctor The doctor has the power to "protect" one player each night. They are allowed to protect themselves and can protect a different person on multiple occasions but the doctor cannot "protect" the same player on consecutive nights. If the save is successful, the ref will announce to all players at the beginning of the next day that a save was successful and the mafia kill was blocked (The ref will not disclose any player names involved with the "save" as that could lead to roles being disclosed inadvertently). The day then continues as normal with an even number of players. *The Doctor save will cancel one and only one whack. If both the Mafia and Vigilante whack the same player, and that player is whom the Doctor saved, said player dies.
Vigilante The vigilante is a special townie that will have the ability to submit a Night kill on 2 occasions during the game, up to his/her discretion. The kill attempts may not occur in consecutive nights or the same night. If the Mafia submit the same kill as the Vigilante, this still counts as one of the two Vigilante kills. A doctor save would block a vigilante kill attempt (unless the Mafia also elect to kill the same player). If the Doctor saves the vigilantes kill, this still counts as one of the 2 vigilante kills. When the vigilante makes a kill attempt, he/she will provide the name to the ref during the night. When the ref announces the kills at the start of the next day, the ref will specify which kill came from the mafia and vigilante. The Vigilante will submit a kill or notify the Ref that a kill will not be submitted for that night within the night time rules.
Other Rules If there are an even number of players and a final runoff tie cannot be broken, the ref will provide a 12 hour extension. After that extension, if the tie has not been resolved, the town will forfeit their Day lynch and the game will proceed to the next Night.
In the final day of the game with 3 players, 2 players must lock on the same player to end the game (1 player locking will not force the end of the game).
If the game ends in a 1-1 tie with 1 townie vs mafia, the mafia wins. (An even tie leads to a forfeited Day which would cause the Mafia to kill the remaining player).
Night order:
1. Mafia whack A. Did Doctor save? a. Yes - whack is blocked b. No - player is whacked. 2. Vigilante kill A. Is Doctor alive AFTER the Mafia whack? a. Yes - Apply Doctor's protection (if applicable) b. No - Vigilante kill is applied 3. Inspector guesses

I'm in.
I'd propose we plan on 17 players unless we have an overwhelming response, which I'm guessing we won't have.
And, as a long shot, I'm going to tag JR and Maizy as two players who haven't played in awhile, probably won't play this game, but I'd still like for them to play.

How would only 17 players effect the number of mafia, inspectors, etc.? I do think since we’re starting recruitment this far out that we’re got a good chance of getting 25 if we wanted to go that route. Could get some only players coming back to play for something special.

Basically 17 would have 4.5, 19 would have just over 5. Inspectors, I think M100 had too many inspectors and would benefit from having a few other roles instead (which is why I think it makes sense to try out the oracle role).
