Been listening to that song since it's release and this has never occurred to me lol. I guess because it's just such a great song. So simple and comforting.
This is a playlist I made songs they covered, "borrowed" or, interpolated on their albums. Not comprehensive by any means, and mostly just their self titled. Also, I think it's funny a whole bunch of people into Lana del Rey's summertime will never realize it's a cover of a song based around a sample of a jazz cover of a song from George Gershwin opera.
I'll admit I can't escape the bias I have of growing up right when s/t and 40 oz to freedom were everywhere. Even though I generally despise that genre of California white boy punky reggaeish whatever I'll always love those two records. I think bradly Nowell was a good songwriter. Some straight solid pop songs but also some weird and off kilter gems. Even lyrically he had a handful of solid lines.
But I won't fight to try and convince anyone. Totally get why you would despise them.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
