I have to wonder if the reaction to this lineup would be significantly different with a quality name in place of MGK and/or Roddy Rich.
It would be. Its that friday top line + mgk + roddy thats making everyone pissed off.
I feel like this lineup is like 4 relatively equal subs away from being universally loved. Trade cole for kendrick, illenium for griz, roddy for don toliver, mgk for… idk i guess arctic monkeys? And maybe throw one more boomer band on there and this would be an entirely different discussion.
I will let you get your laughs and jokes out of the way but I would totally be at the MGK set. I'm personally kind of indifferent on him but Sharla loves him and I would legitimately enjoy the anarchy of a controversial set.
The only thing controversial about mgk is why anyone still listens to him post-pop-punk pivot.
The Kuznite clue was probably Japanese Breakfast (soft sounds from another planet)
Shoot :/ I’ve heard good things about Japanese breakfast but could never get into them. Been absolutely obsessing over ratatat lately so kunzite was gonna be an amazing get for me. Oh well, hopefully they come to Ohio next tour
Their last roo set ended up being a glorified tuning session bc of sound issues but I saw them again at Pride a few months back and they ripped! Should be a great show. Be sweet is incredibly catchy
The Great Dismal by Nothing is one of the best albums of 2020, check it out
This leads to me wanting to post about wild hopes that they add a Jesus Piece set bc Aaron Heard is in both bands, and I find out that Aaron is quitting Nothing to spend time focusing on his kid.
I sat through 21 Savage on the rail once while I was waiting to be up front for Arcade Fire. Wasn't a huge fan, but a lot of people around me seemed to be.
was this at Sloss 2018?
i think the stuff he has been out since then has been significantly better tbh.
going through the spotify numbers for every act and im amazed at how much they missed the mark in terms of getting actually popular current artists
Spotify numbers is a terrible way to build a lineup. They have to go with what’s available and who’s touring. I feel like a lot of acts are still waiting out the pandemic.
Yep it was Sloss. I couldn't be for sure but I could have sworn he was just mumbling against a backing track. All the younger people around me were hyped up but I was just bopping along waiting for Arcade Fire.

I am supposed to be shutting down my office and tomorrow is my last day, so I should be doing timecards and POs and shit, but I can't stop posting on fucking inforoo.

It would take it from pretty good to very solid for me. These may not be names other people want but Doja Cat or Miley would have really pushed it to next level for me

Stevie Nicks, The Chicks, Alison Kraus & Rezz being the only women in the top 20 is a huge yikes for me, especially with how women have been dominating rap the last couple years. So many great R&B/pop options as well with non-white women.
So is MGK more boring now or earlier on in his career? Kinda tough.
his earliest rap stuff wasn’t bad imo. he had a Lace Up mixtape before the album of the same name that was solid, but after General Admission in 2015 i believe his rap career fell off lol
Anyone else here buy tix already or was everyone here waiting for lineup?
I'm waiting for the lineup. I'm planning to do both weekends of Primavera this year, so it'd need to be a particularly strong lineup for me to move the mountains I need to get 3 consecutive weeks of paid time off (plus affording it and having enough energy for 3 weeks of fests in a row lol).
