Yep it was Sloss. I couldn't be for sure but I could have sworn he was just mumbling against a backing track. All the younger people around me were hyped up but I was just bopping along waiting for Arcade Fire.
yeah i saw a bit from the back and it didn’t look too fun lol
This lies somewhere between fine and not terrible. I'm going to be real disappointed when the ACTUAL lineup is release and I like this one better lol
WELP
Goes to show how much a higher billed indie/alt rock band like Arctic Monkeys or YYYs would make the top 9 look SIGNIFICANTLY better. That being said, there is jjjuuuusssssttttt enough on here, that if scheduled jjjuuuussssttttt right, could make a satisfying Roo. I'll hold off until the schedule is released.
I am supposed to be shutting down my office and tomorrow is my last day, so I should be doing timecards and POs and shit, but I can't stop posting on fucking inforoo.
Anyone else here buy tix already or was everyone here waiting for lineup?
Black Friday sale. And about 10 others.
I did the same, my bday is June 20 so it was so hard to say no. Really hoping this lineup is accurate; I was terrified at first that the Chicks would be closing out the fest and I’d be turning 30 to “Goodbye Earl”

Oh you saw me then, the cat totem became a beloved meme at Sloss.
going through the spotify numbers for every act and im amazed at how much they missed the mark in terms of getting actually popular current artists
Spotify numbers is a terrible way to build a lineup. They have to go with what’s available and who’s touring. I feel like a lot of acts are still waiting out the pandemic.
yes, spotify numbers don't mean everything. but they do mean a hell of a lot more when you're talking about younger and newer artists, which is what this lineup is primarily made up of

i actually do think i remember that. i met one of my now best friends at hangout that year and he’s from BHam and invited me to Sloss. id wanted to go for a few years but never was able to so i went.
his dad had a stake in Jack Browns so they had vouchers for VIP tickets and after the whole first day evac, we came back in and I reused the voucher to upgrade myself to VIP since they’d already got theirs when we first went in
overall a fun festival despite the weather, hate that it got chopped.
Ugh. Don't get me started. I'm still mourning the loss of Sloss, it was such a perfect example of a localized smaller festival. They just had some incredibly bad luck, I am still campaigning for them to bring it back.
A serious answer - the #1 on Spotify from this lineup is J Cole and #2 is Roddy Ricch, BUT interestingly Stevie jumps to #2 if you count Fleetwood Mac.
A tad underated but here in Belgium at the last day of each year one of the biggest radio stations holds 'De Tijdloze' basically a countdown for timeless classics. For 6 or 7 years straight the #1 has always been Pearl Jam's 'Black'... until this year. Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' got number one and broke the streak. But more importantly, Fleetwood Mac has only entered with a song in the entire history (going back till '89) once before and since 2018 they have 3 songs in the list.
Stevie Nicks, The Chicks, Alison Kraus & Rezz being the only women in the top 20 is a huge yikes for me, especially with how women have been dominating rap the last couple years. So many great R&B/pop options as well with non-white women.
Yeah, it's not top-heavy, but there's a lot of minority, female and female-minority representation on there down in the mid-card lower-card as well as a few LGBTQ+ acts (Moore K, Wreckno, etc.). Some of it's really good too. It's not necessarily the Top 20, but there's more than I've seen in the past.

man, i know. from the looks of it, i think that 2018 lineup may have been one of the weaker ones but it was still great for what it was.
many of those posters have aged EXTREMELY well.
i still have one of the exclusive posters they gave out in the VIP lounge that is pretty good looking. i’ll have to shoot you a picture on IG and would be glad to send it your way if you’d like to put it to good use
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I feel like women are dominating indie rock as well and it's mostly missing here too.

I'll admit I see a lot of people praising the electronic part of this lineup, none of which I'm familiar with. Just disappointing after 2 years of expecting Lizzo + Meg the Stallion, with so many other similar names available and really popular right now.
