also Coldplay would be a pretty great booking for Roo. Can’t remember the last time they did a US fest. Everyday Life was great by recent Coldplay standards and both times I’ve seen them it’s been a lot of fun. But yeah they’re certainly doing away with the huge #1s and even in like 2013, I couldn’t see Bonnaroo booking Genesis.
I don't think I would count Roo out for booking a bigger headliner. Foos aren't small, and I'd bet they still regularly make some sort of effort to book the Stones/Roger Waters/Fleetwood Mac. Something like Coldplay or Lady Gaga doesn't seem out of reach imo.

Yeah I think the fact that there's one Roo a year leads to some people noticing trends that aren't really trends. Coldplay seem a little big regardless to me, though. Would be a huge get.
Yeah I mean Roo didn't go for massive headliners in 2019 or 2020/21, but 2018 had Eminem (I'm assuming he's up there) and 2017 had U2. Tbf the last couple years have sold out, so I do see them trying to go closer to that formula.
Gonna take a moment to appreciate the serious undercard potential for next year. Hoping a good chunk of this big list makes it onto the 2022 lineup

Plus any of the new crop of post punk bands would be much appreciated. Roo’s been slacking on them and this seems to be their year

You’ll take Cold War Kids and Milky Chance and you’ll like it.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

low key I kinda like Milky Chance
I was really into their first album for a bit in college. The few songs I've heard since weren't very good. They weren't very good live in 2015 either unfortunately.

second album had a couple bangers, never listened past that or seen them live
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Tool, Kendrick, Billie seems like a perfect trio although I’d prefer NIN or Rage to Tool. Think we can see some of the 2020 lineup back as well. Maybe swap Haim for Vampy Weeks and Jamie xx for Disclosure?

was bored at Music Midtown in 2017 so I waited in line to meet Milky Chance and asked them to buy me beer bc I was underage. They seemed confused. They signed my chest though.
May have just spent way too much on Genesis tickets. I know I’ve brought them up before as a headliner and I know it might not be the best draw, but it would be a dream come true to see them play the farm. Even just Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel would be magical.
I really hope we get SZA. I'm still kicking myself for not going to her 2015 set, her new singles have been fantastic too.
I was supposed to see her in Raleigh on the Black Panther TDE tour a few years back but she had to pull out, I think for vocal issues.
I remember hearing about that, she toured for a few years without really stopping and it took a big toll! I love her music though, CTRL is still one of my favorite albums.
