Shaky Knees lineup is very, very good, but MMJ being elevated to headliner is the biggest “blew all our money on the other headliners” I’ve seen in a long time
Like, good for them, and we all know they will blow everyone away, but as headliners next to NIN and Green Day?

The festival is named after a song lyric of theirs.

I think MMJ is a great fit to headline this festival. Foo Fighters and Green Day are 2 of the biggest headliners they ever had. Everything else I'd say is at the same level of MMJ. Don't forget they headlined before.

Tim has always given acts the HL bump and he talks about how the bands are very appreciative of it and deliver much better performances. The xx, The National, Alabama Shakes (14), RTJ, Tame Impala (15), Cage the Elephant

There’s one just about every year
pretty sure there was similar logic when my wife first agreed to go out with me.
Biffy Clyro is a great booking. Headlining Download Festival with the likes of Kiss and Iron Maiden just a month later.
Them being listed 5th on their day is kinda surprising, definitely check them out if you're going.
They’ve always been the band that headlines any and every European fest and then comes over here and plays 400-person clubs. It’s weird but I guess it works for them.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Honestly, I'd love to get Travis at Bonnaroo but they're such a random booking I can't imagine that happening. There was a time where it seemed like they competing with Coldplay for that 'Radiohead-lite' lane but they just kind of fell off. Some nice songs, though.

It's sad but I think we're at a point where a band like Travis wouldn't get booked at a major multi-genre US fest. The pop/hip hop/EDM wave is still riding high, and acts like this are relegated to the genre-specific fests.

Foo Fighters / Nine Inch Nails Megan Thee Stallion / Tipper
Tool / Miley Cyrus My Morning Jacket / Run The Jewels
Jack White / Dolly Parton Deadmau5 / Snoop Dogg
Absolutely zero world where all five out of the top 6 acts are rock/rock-adjacent
the big dilemma about the 2022 headliners. right now rage against the machine, coldplay, tool, jack white, and foo fighters are all a possibility (i don't think nine inch nails will do shaky knees and bonnaroo but a man can dream). the headliners will be one rock act - one female headliner - one rapper that will draw younger people that's not travis scott.

EDIT: foos are in europe next summer.
RATM probably aren't a possibility - they're essentially just following their plans from 2020, which didn't include Bonnaroo.
