the big dilemma about the 2022 headliners. right now rage against the machine, coldplay, tool, jack white, and foo fighters are all a possibility (i don't think nine inch nails will do shaky knees and bonnaroo but a man can dream). the headliners will be one rock act - one female headliner - one rapper that will draw younger people that's not travis scott.
EDIT: foos are in europe next summer.
RATM probably aren't a possibility - they're essentially just following their plans from 2020, which didn't include Bonnaroo.
raleigh is the only southern date i see but honestly your logic will probably check out. coldplay could be possible and a big get for bonnaroo, tool could get booked since they were going to play in 2020, and jack white is a pretty easy good headliner with a tennessee connection.
tool seems most likely with coldplay and jack white both being toss ups.

That Lizzo booking looks so strange now. She was seriously booked to headline off an album that was almost 3.5yrs old? She dropped one single and it fell off the charts pretty quickly and its been radio silence ever since.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Biffy Clyro is a great booking. Headlining Download Festival with the likes of Kiss and Iron Maiden just a month later.
Them being listed 5th on their day is kinda surprising, definitely check them out if you're going.
They’ve always been the band that headlines any and every European fest and then comes over here and plays 400-person clubs. It’s weird but I guess it works for them.
for whatever reason they're just not a thing here in the States

If you'd seen her crowd at ACL 2019 you would have thought it was incredibly normal.
I'm less convinced now than I was then. The dates certainly seem to suggest it, but it would take them being willing to cut back fairly significantly on their production. Especially their green initiative stuff that I learned about after the fact.
Not out of the question, but I don't think I'm leaning towards it.
I am leaning towards us getting one of Tool, RATM, or NIN. It does feel like they're pretty likely to get one of the heavier acts that will be touring next year. If Radiohead gets on the road, I think there's a shot we may get them too.

fwiw Shaky Knees and Bonnaroo have never shared a headliner in the same year. They’ve shared an act that was a headliner for Shaky but sub at Bonnaroo in the same year which was The XX in 2017. I believe that will happen again this year with MMJ.
Also like Juggs said earlier, Rage is following the pattern that they were going to in 2020 even though they’ve got the gap around Roo, I doubt they’re playing.

How far can helicopters fly? An honest question - I've never thought about that.
Transatlantic helicopter flights have been done several times throughout history but are very long (over 24 hours of flight time) and require several midair refuelings. If Mr. Zimmerman were to travel from Europe to Bonnaroo, I would highly recommend he take a commercial or private passenger flight before choosing to use a helicopter to complete the journey.
