I don't think that makes it realistic for them to book the best band of the last 30 years and the second biggest pop star of the last 20 years that is basically retired from music at this point.
I was originally speaking on the mock as a whole, not just the trio of headliners. I mean yes, even getting Rihanna alone is of course unrealistic, but Roo has gotten huge headliners before. Is Radiohead/Rihanna that much crazier than Elton John/Kanye West? Is that trio together that much bigger than something like U2/RHCP/The Weeknd? Obviously a Radiohead/Rihanna/Stevie trio is better, but I'm not sure about being much bigger. I could be wrong though.
there’s a difference between big and rare though. Frank Ocean is a lot less realistic than plenty of acts that are bigger than he is for example.

I mean sure but does he cost a fuck ton? Then what difference does it make?

I agree with you there. I guess I just wasn't viewing Radiohead as that rare, and I wouldn't call his mock unrealistic just because of Rihanna. But I see what you're saying.

the difference is you can offer frank or rihanna a shit ton of money and they might just not care. rhcp will show up for your grandmas bday if you throw money at them.
I think Stevie Nicks solo is a smaller headliner though. She was 2nd on her day behind Tame on the 2020 Gov Ball lineup. Listed not by day, they had her 5th on the bill.

Radiohead are probably less expensive than Foos or RATM and have a history with the fest. Rihanna is obviously a big stretch, but she does supposedly have an album in the works. I’m just trying to manifest it and keep different names in the mix. You can replace her with SZA for a more realistic option

I also wonder if Radiohead is even touring. I don’t think Thom has even rescheduled his tour and they said they’d do a RH tour once all their solo tours are done. Once they are touring, Roo should more than likely get them.

nah Radiohead usually pull in much more than Foo’s
I also just think Rihanna or her agents don’t like festivals. Same situation with drake, like 1 fest in the last 5/6 years IIRC.
I mean she hasn’t been very active in the last 5 years but I thought I remember her doing some euro fests when she was touring ANTI. Live Nation could offer her a sweet deal, who knows. Like I said, very unlikely, but I don’t think it’s 100% out of the cards. I’m pretty sure most major fest headliners don’t like festivals

I don’t think Olivia is top 3 on her day already tbh. Musgraves was 4th in19.
She is massive and only getting bigger, but I think I agree. I'm super curious to see how she gets billed next year wherever she is booked.
And re: Dolly, I thought I had read before that she is very picky about the venues she plays, something about the heat being an issue maybe? That could have been hearsay or something but I think I remember reading that not too long ago.
I could definitely see Roo going for Stevie Nicks though, they know the Roo crowd wants Fleetwood Mac from past surveys.

I don’t think Kacey has been topping charts
Not the pop charts, but she's had 10 top 40 country songs, which is especially impressive considering they don't get a lot of radio airplay. Hell, she and Tyler the Creator have had exactly three songs on the Hot 100 ever in their careers.

Yeah having both is more my wishful thinking. I did try to balance it out by having the other 4 of the top 6 being geared toward a younger demographic.
Fri: Nine Inch Nails - Miley Cyrus - Skrillex 21 Savage - Kaytranada - The Flaming Lips - Khruangbin - St. Vincent
Sat: Travis Scott - Flume - Oysterhead Rufus Du Sol - Doja Cat - Ween - Vulfpeck - Modest Mouse - Rezz - STS9
Sun: Stevie Nicks - SZA - Vampire Weekend Olivia Rodrigo - Roddy Ricch - Gary Clark Jr. - Steve Aoki - The Shins
even though I want to see NIN so badly, replace them with Tool since we lost them to the great 2020 lineup that once was. And this is a pretty perfect lineup for me, The Flaming Lips, Khruangbin, Oysterhead, Ween, Stevie, VW, The Shins is all already enough to get me excited.
