Can you guys let me know when this is done so I can start the one I was planning on? I have it setup, I just thought we were still waiting on the pop draft to finish.
I'm down to do the festival (fka Bonnaroo) draft whenever there's an opportunity.
Can we do a Bonnaroo 2022 draft?
I think I'm done calling it that because we're not really holding people to the Bonnaroo format. But that's the draft we're doing.
Honestly, I'd be fine with making acts that are unavailable during Bonnaroo 2022 ineligible for the draft but they haven't officially announced the date yet.

Just like, draft whatever kind of festival you want? What kind of parameters you thinking?
I've been draft-free since the metal draft and I'm itching for a return
edit: make this one the Bonnaroo infinity draft
I was basically thinking that it would be the standard draft where you draft the Bonnaroo 2022 lineup since it should be starting to link in the next couple of months. Just wasn't calling it Bonnaroo because people inevitably insist on changing the name or the location or people bitch that Bonnaroo wouldn't book such and such an act and I'm just kind of over policing some of these arguments.
By Bonnaroo infinity are you talking about the one where we're drafting solely from a pool of previous Bonnaroo lineups? I'll definitely need people to volunteer to help with the setup for that one because it'll take a while for one person to go through and type out all of the acts from each lineup. If we had maybe five people tackling four lineups it wouldn't be so bad. We'd do separate pools for acts that were booked but never performed either because they dropped out or the festival cancelled. (I think for that we'd consider both 2021 festival dates and both 2022 festival dates as one lineup per year.)

yeah, i'm talking about drafting solely from a pool of previous Bonnaroo lineups - and I really don't think we need a list, there's zero reason why people can't browse through the lineups on their own. i know Fred did that for one of the Coachella drafts and it made things easier, but it also meant that people didn't have to try much harder other than scrolling through his post.

I was thinking the same thing as I was typing my response.

yeah like if you're too lazy or time-strapped to take brief glances at old lineups, you probably shouldn't do the drafts anyway

the list for the coachella draft made sense because there was a 2nd phase with artists from other goldenvoice fests and having the list for that made a lot of sense, with roo i understand just doing your own research though

Wasn't the second list acts that had dropped out of the festival?

that was the first edition, the second edition had that and all acts who played other GV fests but not coachella

Has anyone pitched a blind auction draft yet? Think that could be fun where we all make sealed bids for nominated acts without knowing what offers others are making. Could keep the sales and lineups secret until it ends as well
Seems like there's a number of drafts already in the queue but could be an interesting concept at some point down the line

Would there be any interest in a Bonnaroo 2022 Predictions Draft? Standard snake draft format, but instead of voting subjectively, we have a points rubric based on who picks the most acts that appear on the actual lineup. Something like 10 points for a headliner, 5 for a sub, 3 for colored text, 1 for undercard. Would probably keep it pretty brief, something like 20-30 rounds, and no schedule or poster requirement. It would be a little closer to fantasy football since there's objective scoring instead of votes. Points would be totaled as soon as the poster drops, no waiting for additions or other changes.
