as a non-drafter it feels like the most objectionable picks are the ones who who really seized on Punk and Post-Punk when the prompt is "Which drafter booked the best hard rock festival for 2021?"
yeah it’s kinda hard cause like you said earlier someone like Patti Smith isn’t rly hard rock but is still one of the most punk ladies of all time. I like the genre stretching picks that still feel like they fit with the rest of the acts being drafted, I have a couple good ones lined up 😎

yeah, like your lineup is really good but at the same time imagining Nick Cave at Louder than Life or Aftershock is pretty hard for me. anyways ill let you get back to it and see you all for the voting lol

I think it's really funny that like thirty acts have been taken using "-punk" as a descriptor but am I the only one who has taken straight up punk rock bands?

I don’t think anyone here would object to calling Riot Fest a “hard rock” fest and their lineuos are half punk (and usually with a good smattering of post punk too), plus booking bands like The Prodigy and Ween (but not the smile……yet).
So…should the brief should be “who can book the ‘butt rock’ festival”? (Scare quotes to not be mean to butt rock.) Seems like it would be a lot harder.

Me, I guess? And even then it’s only been, like, 2-3 at most so far.

possibly - i have a couple hardcore punk bands, but no traditional "punk"
have more than a handful on my list though, I know I can wait because nobody here is drafting them

like what shuck said, I don’t want to be only allowed to book butt rock, I want my fest to be good. To me Cave is a lot darker than a ton of these super campy metal acts

I know that's pretty specifically what I'm going for (and King cum, maybe bing and Todd to a lesser extent), but there's no reason anyone has to fit the Danny Wimmer formula to a T. I think Nick Cave is a perfectly reasonable pick for what tristvn is doing

Exactly. I like the different interpretations; I love Nick Cave but I want to go for more of a hedonistic vibe so I’m leaning a bit more towards the campy stuff in the future.

Bikini Kill
yeah I looked back, that was kind of a reductive statement, my bad. PD has Misfits, Pablo and LD have Dropkick, Todd has L7, etc. But there's definitely way more post punk than actual Punk being picked lol
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
