Would've taken them like 5 rounds ago. Seriously, I might aswell pick Charli XCX if y'all don't give a shit about the rules in the OP. It doesn't seem to matter anyways.

”the rules” allow for a spirit of the game factor
They're simply not allowed, the genres are not stated in the description. How should this be a grey area or are we gonna open a lot more open doors for troll and lame picks?

The idea is two fold. First, basic eligibility is “genre as listed in rules + active in the time frame”. Second, the door is open for acts who maybe don’t have one of those specific genres listed to be included if they seem to be in the spirit of the game.
As an example, let’s say that Mastodon was listed in Wikipedia as “alternative rock” or whatever. I could still draft them and then argue that they’re clearly the kind of act that should be in a game like this, despite what their wiki says. This way, we aren’t merely at the mercy of whatever random Wikipedia editor chose the genres for these bands.

Frankly we’re getting more weird/“troll” picks that technically abide by the rules, because the words “punk” and “-core” have been attached to some very not heavy/punk/whatever acts, but them’s the breaks.
Destroyer is a metal album, wiki says hard rock, I didn't even really bother to check because they felt safe. definitely not something I was trying to troll.
I'll challenge it formally, whatever, I think I'm firmly in the spirit.

Black Mountain is more fine than Dead Meadow, and I thought that one was fine, too. Wiki tags are arbitrary. Not sure why we should exclude riffy stoner bands that crib from early Sabbath and allow stuff like RHCP just because of Wikipedia. Passes the smell test.
It's just lame that you do all this research, check so many potential names and when they do get picked even though they shouldn't be.. They just seem to pass. That's lame. Within the spirit or not.
