I have no idea what this is in regards to but I voted yes
Is Ween a band that plays metal, punk, or hard rock?
I don't think so. They're more of a jammy alternative act, in my experience. They've got such a deep catalog that I'm sure that there are exceptions. I don't know that they consistently rock any more than, say, Phish.
So, barring examples that change my opinion, I'm in the no column.

i see Ween as more of a "120 Minutes" type band. Like an "alternative music" band in the early 90s fashion, similar to TMBG, or The Dead Milkmen. They started getting the jammy label and being booked at jammy festivals because Phish covered their song "Roses are Free", which introduced a bunch of Phish people into their fanbase (including me, before then they were just the "push the lil daisies" band from Beavis and Butthead).
Ween certainly plays their fair share of hard rock (including the definitive hard rock anthem, "Dr. Rock"), and reinterprets many of their songs to sound very hard rock live. And they have some tracks that sound like straight up punk songs ("It's Gunna Be A Long Night", "Stroker Ace", "I'll Be Your Johnny on the Spot"), or punk-a-billy ("Pumpin' Gas For The Man"). And even when the songs don't sound "punk", "hard rock", or "metal", their entire ethos is a very punk "fuck you we do what we want" attitude.
Having said all that, based on reading the OP in the hard rock/punk/metal thread, I would not think they'd belong in the draft. But now that I'm looking at the other bands drafted, it seems the rules are being interpreted more loosely than I anticipated.
If The Prodigy, Boris, New Order, The Pixies, MBV, Mr. Bungle, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Television, LCD Soundsystem, L7, and Dinosaur Jr. can be drafted, Ween certainly can as well. None of those bands fit super cleanly into metal or punk or hard rock.
So i vote Ween is allowed to be drafted.

but i'm loving the slippery slope of the hard rock/metal/punk draft into a pool of artists inforoo is comfortable with. predicting phoebe bridgers will end up on somebody's lineup.

phoebe bridgers was specifically disallowed lol
does that mean somebody tried to draft her? if so that's wonderful.

exhibit b: dean ween's rock face
The only one of the the bands you listed that I would question is LCD and maybe The Prodigy. But I get it they are kinda punk and definitely would play this kind of festival. Obviously you’ve never heard Mr. Bungle. They’re thrash metal at times, including the whole last album they released.
there are a couple bands I can think of that would be ineligible that I think should be. Maybe a spirit of the game rule for emo but I'm ok with this too.
yeah, spirit of the game exceptions are still cool. They are subject to poll if anyone objects, but like, don't take fucking Phoebe Bridgers lol
Given all the questionable picks in this draft so far I’m not sure why this is the one that got polled
I brought it up again solely because every other questionable pick that's been made at least passes the Wiki test; Ween is the only one so far who hasn't.
also, a question that I'm sure most people in favor of Ween being included in this draft will say "yes" to anyway: would Ween be eligible for a hypothetical country festival draft?

Just checked with mrs. postjack and she agreed with you. I guess I'm not familiar enough with Mr. Bungle.
im fine with it because its funny watching the draft regulars scramble to find names for this
This wasn't a scramble. I wanted Ween because they are a weird, somewhat hard-to-categorize band that bridges the gap between different genres on our lineup. They are plenty *hard rock* but they're not distinctly punk or metal. Some people are trying to do almost exclusively metal fests. LD and I are doing a little bit of everything.
I really don't get how Ween isn't a hard rock act. As I said in the draft thread, their biggest and most well-known songs like Buckingham Green, Voodoo Lady and Roses Are Free are distorted and fuzzy songs that they jam out with guitar solos etc and have plenty of hallmarks of hard rock. If they showed up on Louder Than Life or any other mainstream rock radio fest, I don't think anyone would bat an eye.
