At what point are, say, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, a cover band based on this metric
My understanding is that they don't or barely even play stuff from prior to Mother's Milk anymore. Thus, they don't come across as a cover band, as the songs they play are from their current lineup.
First time I saw them they did me and my friends and the last tour with josh they were doing hey mommy where’s daddy. I’ll never understand why fight like a brave isn’t a setlist staple
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
regarding when a band becomes a cover band, i also think whether or not they are recording new music is a qualitative factor to consider.
Kings of Leon is a great example here. "Use somebody and Sex on Fire" have to be like hearing nails on a chalkboard to the band. But they go through the motions during their concerts because that's what pays the bills. They still make new music that no one listens to.
Are we really gonna call The Killers “ok” and not bad? It really felt like a cover band. I haven’t watched a lot of big headliners and thought “man they aren’t very good musicians and they seem really loose in a bad way”
That's a really fair point; it was only my second roo and I wasn't sure if I was disappointed because they were actually disappointing or if it was just me being dopamine depleted and running on fumes. "OK" to me just screams safe and forgettable; Like, Future that year wasn't forgettable because he was so bad, but I almost immediately forgot what the Killers set was even like after leaving the farm.
I'm a fan too! Here's my poster that they signed for me. Makes me dizzy just trying to read it. I have a picture with the whole band when they played in front of 20 people here in Rochester NY. Ya'll are just getting my hopes up too much for a stellar set. So if I set my expectations to being just okay, then maybe they will exceed!
*Side note, why can I never get pics to post correctly? If I use the insert image option it shows as a broken picture icon on my end...

1. upload image to imgur 2. once upload is complete, hover around top right corner of image until "copy link ..." appears 3. click "..." 4. click "get share links" 5. click "copy link" next to "BBCode (Forums)" 6. paste that text directly into your inforoo post
lotta different ways to do it but this is the quickest for me.

The reason it's showing as a broken picture is usually because the link you're using is a link to a gallery containing the image rather than the image itself. Make sure the url ends in .jpg or some image format and it should work. Sometimes it requires an additional "open image" and right-click. Postjack's method might circumvent the need for that.
