Went to this last year and it is organized by people who adore the hellscape that is current life, at least that's the only thing that can explain one water source when it was legit 104.
we also had an awful experience in 2021 VIP
they clearly way oversold the festival that year, lines were crazy, VIP camping was ass to elbows, and it was just uncomfortably crowded
Haven’t heard reports about the 2022 but ticket sales were way down based on the posts they were making leading up to the fest so maybe it was better
Also Zach Bryan and Maggie Rogers as headliners has strong “blew all our money booking Bon Iver” vibes
For some reason I’ve never been before despite living in VA practically my whole life. Definitely gonna try to rally a group for it
I’ve been to literally 1 day in the whole time its existed. It was years and years ago and I’m not sure I could find my way back if I needed to. I just know it wasn’t Check as the festival itself was in Floyd proper. They apparently bought this land.
Since it’s new, I’m reading carefully. I’ll be taking the kids to their first festival and need to have an exit strategy if one gets too freaked out.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Something In The Water announced they’re officially moving back to Virginia Beach, tix on sale Nov 5th EDIT- sale on Saturday 11/5 only for VA residents it appears, available at a box office in VA Beach
This poster looks like an Inforooer made it for a draft.
It's not that good.
If this got better in 22 I'd go to this. Would get to stay with my friends in St Louis before and after and it's an easy drive for the van. Do they usually add any more acts?
Might just do this and tree fort instead of killing myself doing desert daze
New fest by LN, called Sick New World, happening in Las Vegas on May 13, 2023. SOAD, Deftones, Korn, Incubus, Evanescence, Chevelle all teased the fest on their accounts, so I guess a numetal themed festival lol. Tickets on sale this Friday.

SOAD and Deftones should help move some serious tickets. I bet this thing sells out in a flash and they add another date or two. Goldenvoice must be kicking themselves...I think they were first with the specialty single genre fests (Just Like Heaven, Cruel World), but Livenation really took it to the stratosphere.

You understand that all the Butt Rock fests have all these acts anyway every other year? Isnt much niche to it when its been a thing for a while. If theyre just focusing on like 5 years of Nu Metal its what will get the attention moreso.

It matters when Wimmer been booking his fests in Nowhere, USA compared to a destination like Vegas. Who wants to go to Daytona Beach when you can party on the Vegas strip.

The people who live closer to nowhere know that theyll get some form of that lineup and not have to fly to Vegas pretty much. Much more accesible for people in so cal who can drive or take a cheap flight vs going cross country. Who says people have unlimited funds anymore.

I've been wanting to go to Treefort for a long time, next year might be it! They punch way above their weight in mid-level bookings.
Usually get a lot of their acts touring through Portland before or after but there's a lot to love here. Dumbo Gets Mad, Brijean, Jane Weaver, Derya Yildirim, Mauskovic Dance Band, Teke::Teke, Big Joanie, 700 Bliss, Spoon Benders, Lady Wray...
surprised some of the acts are even willing to play in Boise. Not a bad lineup for that area of the country.
Boise is like a little Denver.. a friend of mine has a stake in this, it's been getting bigger every year (not the stake everyone else has from the pandemic)
