just to check bonnaroo attendance for recent-ish years for regular inforoo posters. obviously 2021 is prospective, vote for it if you're planning to attend.
It being canceled gave my wife the perfect opportunity to back out. She thinks Bonnaroo is too difficult physically with the heat and exhaustion and all that.

Skipped 2018 (my first one since ‘07, my wife’s was 2014) to get married and have a nice honeymoon in Europe. But we also didn’t care ‘bout the lineup all that much.
pretty much exactly how you would think it flushes out. 2016 was not a popular lineup, proven by the overall low attendance numbers, but inforoo'ers powered through because of the inertia driven by the great lineups over the years before then, in other words the "well i always go to bonnaroo in the summer so i guess i'll go to bonnaroo" effect. followed by a big drop off in 2017 and 2018 due to milquetoast lineups. almost a return to form in 2019 when AC takes over booking again and the lineup gets more interesting. and 2021 matching 2016, i'd say mostly due to demand driven by covid scarcity but also a bit of that inertia again from the people who went in 2019 and had a great time, and of course the 2021 lineup is pretty darn good.
and of course most of the people posting here regularly and thus seeing this poll are the type of people who probably go to bonnaroo, so minimal "none of the above" responses (but there are some who checked this box because even if you don't go to bonnaroo inforoo is a fun place to hang out and talk music and play games).
I would have liked to go this year, but I can't make it in September (work obligations). If it were over the summer I would have gone, since my first was the 10th anniversary and I would have liked to attend the 20th. (F covid!) I'll live vicariously through my friends who are going. Maybe 2022.
I went in 2016 and 2018. I went those years cause they each had a handful of acts I really love. Muse is who made me fall in love with music in 7th grade and I had been hoping for years to see them at the top of a Bonnaroo lineup, so I couldn't miss that. Fantastic show, just a bummer that year is when Roo decided to give all the headliners super short sets.
Then this year I'm so pumped for the lineup that I got Platinum. If it weren't for Thursday being a wasteland compared to the Thursdays of 2016 and prior (even the last few years were much better compared to this year) it would contend with 2014 for my favorite Roo lineup. Also would have liked if one or two artists from Saturday were moved to Sunday. This year's lineup has more of my absolute favorites than any previous Roo lineup though.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
