I’m gonna shoot for Skateboarding (Men’s or Women’s Street or Vert), Soccer (again Men’s or Women’s), Gymnastics (Women’s). I’d also like to hit a lot of Track stuff but we will wait and see on that.
basketball for sure. probably hurdles, the way athletes drop behind by hitting/stumbling over the bars was fun to watch.
beyond that, found myself watching a lot of volleyball this year because I played in a tournament recently so I felt like I knew what was going on more than usual. then for stuff I watched for the first time, sailing was really intriguing, but idk how/if they have spectators for that.

They definitely have spectators. From what I understand, anything not in a seat isn’t ticketed. Like the Marathons and City Cycles you can walk up for free. I’m pretty sure Sailing would be the same but idk for sure.
If you could attend three events in 2028, what would you pick? As much as you can, try to keep in mind relative cost, location and schedule of events.
Well like is money no object or like if you could get tickets. I mean, living here I more or less dont have an issue with going around the city. I mean I might have to go to Equestrian and thats on another planet lol

these are the events I will probably prioritize.
These seem like the best bang for the buck since they are almost all day and multiple events in large venues: Rugby 7s Athletics Swimming
Wouldn't mind seeing these but the venues are smaller and not as many events per day BMX freestyle Skateboarding fencing
only because it's 15 minutes from my house: Equestrian
I'm gonna try for events on a tuesday/wednesday/thursday in the hopes that tickets might be easier with the lottery. wouldn't mind staying at a friends overnight to get 2 days or events in if possible too.

Paris had packs of tickets available for events. A lot of the “remote” locations (ie: Versailles and Colline d'Elancourt and what not’s) you could mix and match the events you wanted to see at certain venues. Hoping they bring that to LA.
Also of note, they’re switching Track and Swimming/Diving next go-round. Track will be the first week with the pool the second.

This is only true of swimming/track, isn't it? Diving is at a separate venue, believe the same place they used in 1984.
The issue/reason is SoFi for swimming - building a pool like at Lucas Oil, then covering it for opening ceremonies, then uncovering it and building temporary seating like Lucas Oil. Will be interesting to watch!

You’re right, I should have checked. It is just swimming.

opening ceremonies will be at the colosseum instead of SoFi. it'll be the first stadium to host 3 opening ceremonies. SoFi will only be used for swimming as of now. they are goign to remove the first 15 rows of seating while building the area for the pool. gonna be neat to see -- the worlds largest olympic swimming venue.
