Just got a little rain here in Tempe. Calling for a bit more tomorrow, then clear skies through the weekend.
Note for the out of towners: bring something warm for the evenings, especially Saturday night. Cold nights in the desert hit different than in places with humidity
It rained pretty hard in Tempe this morning, but it's starting to let up now. I'm going to walk over to the park after work and see how it's looking. It's going to be sunny the next couple of days, but only 60 tomorrow and 67 on Friday. I hope that's warm enough to dry most of it up before Saturday. There are a few small hills in the park, so I won't be surprised to see some muddy patches at the bottom of those.

what’s the update on this?
It's wet. It rained more last night after I thought we were in the clear. Going to check it out again during my lunch break. Will try to post some pics

Just walked back over. The sun is working wonders today. It still looks a little wet in some spots, but overall it's drier than I thought. Forecast is all sun through the weekend, so we should be in good shape.
Views from behind the main stage and a random spot between the two stages
I live in Tempe and am happy to give recommendations for this weekend based on what you’re looking to do. Hit me up if you need food or drink recs!
Staying at the Sonesta Select. Good breakfast places within walking distance?
Not sure if they do weekday brunch, but Pedal Haus is a brewery close to you that has a good patio and halfway decent food. If you’re looking for something different to try with some friends then would suggest considering Snakes and Lattes. Food is okay, but they have like every board game known to man so it’s fun to play a game while you eat and have a couple drinks on occasion.
As others have suggested you can do First Watch, Morning Squeeze, Snooze, etc.. Unfortunately downtown Tempe has gotten expensive so it kind of corporate driven down there and not nearly as many small local sit down cafes. All my favorite breakfast choices are in downtown Phoenix.
For lunch I like Casey Moores Oyster House. Dinner option at House of Tricks which are all within walking distance to yourself. Those are the suggestions I’d give for non-chain or big box experiences.
gibsonguy20 my dad and i are finishing up at Casey Moore’s. Both really enjoyed it! the mens bathroom situation is definitely interesting but the food was solid.
Today was fantastic. I want to talk about how great it was but it would just turn into me sucking Tim’s dick.
Got there when gates opened and it was pretty smooth. Went Almost Monday -> Del Water Gap -> Dashboard -> St. Vincent -> Foo. For those who didn’t see, the venmo deck is sweet. There’s a bar, wifi, and chargers. Only set I saw today that I didn’t enjoy was Dashboard but I’m not a big fan of them in the studio either. Annie and Foo were both fucking incredible, awesome programming on Home Plate for that one. Excited for tomorrow but I also went so hard today so I will be relaxing a little more tomorrow.

Glad you had a great first day! Dashboard was actually my favorite set of the day, but I knew they would be going in. Still an emo kid at heart.
The crowd was definitely bigger (and cell service worse) than in 2019 & 2020. So any concern that the spring training delay would affect the fest is gone.
Check out Sydney Sprague if you get in early again today. She's an amazing local artist.
today was insane. every performance i saw was great and the weather was fantastic. i’ll write more on this for the blog maybe but if the lineup is right and spring training is actually happening, i will definitely be back.
top 5 sets of the weekend are probably Matt & Kim, Foo, Jade Bird, Tame, and St. Vincent but it’s really tough because everyone i saw this weekend was solid
Such a great weekend! Perfect weather, good sound everywhere, friendliest crowds I've seen at a fest in a long time. Crowd seemed a little thinner yesterday. It was a little easier to move around and get close to the stages, and I had cell service all night.
Top six sets (three from each day): 1. Tame Impala 2. Matt & Kim 3. Dashboard Confessional 4. Foo Fighters 5. St. Vincent 6. Fitz and The Tantrums
andrew were you wearing a powder blue Rangers jersey and Texas Tech hat yesterday? I think you were right in front of me at Sydney Sprague. I didn't make the Lubbock connection until after the set, or I would have said hi.
unfortunately doesnt look like it. Nothing That Has Happened getting played the first time since 2013 seems cool tho
oh that’s pretty sweet. the rotation of songs has been relatively small for it but this wild card thing hes done this tour is nice
in ATL, we got Half Full Glass of Wine which is great and was a ton of fun but they’d got it in DC a few nights prior so it felt like the people were just leaching off of that when asking for it and could’ve been cool to get something else
in all honesty though, i’m just excited for another show regardless of the setlist. everything else is just a cherry on top
