Green Day is a dookie nowadays. I mean come on, when was the last time they actually made a decent record? Foo's past two records were mediocre, but atleast they aren't bad. That Father Of All-album from 2020 is straight up garbage. Also Grohl can be corny and ranty at times, but he ain't no Billy Joe who needs tricks to fill his empty ass show. It's like when P!nk starts doing her acrobatics shit to hide that her songs are just.. bad.

When was the last time Foo Fighters made a record as good as American Idiot? I'd say that Foos are a better band right now than Green Day is, but I think both bands are past the point where their latest record should be what we judge them on. Green Day has had more (and higher) highs than Foos imo. Really comes down to what you want to get out of a show.
there's a lot going on there but I assume the new foo fighter albums are in fact bad
Concrete And Gold is imo a 6, Medicine at Midnight a 5 while the last three Green Day albums don't get higher than a 4 for me (which is Revolution Radio, FoA is a 1 and Demolicious a 2). Nobody comes for the new tunes tho, but still.

I’m judging this by who I would most like to see in 2022. Foos seem to have better live shows in this day and age than Green Day, also I would avoid a 2022 Katy perry show at just about all costs

Billy Joe was 32 when he all of a sudden went completely political punk with American Idiot. Sure, a post-9/11 society paved kind of the way for a cliché anti-war-album like that but come on. Let's not pretend nimrod (lmao) and Warning: were any good after they released Dookie. The political climate of that time made people resonate a lot with what they were doing, but.. is it a good record? Eh.

American Idiot is what radicalized me when I was 9 years old lol. It was actually a very formative album for my personality. I'd much rather listen to American Idiot than any Foo Fighters album. I don't think Green Day is any worse than bands like FF, Muse, The Killers, etc. and I'd probably have a much better time at Green Day.
