I only got so angry at oatmeal once it became evident that it was a Grit Person vs. Oatmeal Person fight, and I had to fight til the end for my gritz.
Oatmeal can be really good. In the fall I love to sauté some apples with cinnamon and coconut oil til slightly tender then top my oatmeal with those + walnuts or pecans.
This sounds way better than any cereal ever created
yeah tbh i can be convinced to get over my need for vengeance and switch to cereal from oatmeal because i truly do prefer the latter.
also, store bought muffins are trash--but homemade ones can actually be legit, and way more healthy. if you make it with an oat or almond flour plus chia or flax seed for some healthy fats, then cinnamon + fruit mixed in....that shit is good
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

That explains a lot. So is it then like a sandwich kinda dough? Still kinda weird to put some kind warm (?) jus over breading as a breakfast? Maybe I prefer cold breakfast options more idk.
Not like sandwich dough. It's mostly flour, milk and butter. You want to leave the butter not very well mixed in bc you're going for aeration like with a pastry but not in sheets. It's not as light as pastry but should be lighter than what you're thinking from that picture.
It's gravy not jus. I feel like there's a difference. Funny enough, you have a lot of flour and milk in it as well. Ideally, you're going to add the leftover sausage (or bacon) grease into it but it shouldn't feel greasy at all. Bonus points if you have actual sausage in there. As I type this, I recognize that I have to specify this is breakfast sausage which I doubt they have there in the same way. 😄
Also, whoever is voting biscuits and gravy, fuck you.
So it's between sandwich and like.. cake? kinda mixture and then some kind of sauce over it?

biscuits aren't generally sweet, and the sauce is usually very thick and meaty

Bing you should go ahead and Google "pimento cheese" because it's bound to come up at some point
That honestly looks delish. I like to use and experiment with different kinds of spreading on my bread during lunch, don't think we have it over there tho. Also most spreadings are egg-based or hummus. Never really heard of a cheese-based spread.

I'll be surprised if muffins actually rightfully go.
Leading up to the cabin trip over the Summer, my girlfriend went to Cosco and bought these massive muffins that looked like they weighed 3-5 lbs each. Maybe 12 of them. From the moment I laid eyes on these fucking things I made fun of her endlessly and bet her $100 dollars that no more than one half of one muffin would be eaten by the end of the trip.
By the end of the trip, these psychopaths with no metabolism concerns ran through all of them.

Re the bolded part, I think of jus as the liquid that cooks off of the meat while it’s cooking, but not so much the fat, and not necessarily with anything added (although I’ve never made jus, so I might be wrong there), whereas gravy, as you said, is more the fat, milk, and flour all cooked together. I also think of jus as being more from like a cut of meat like a roast so that it has more liquid to cook off, as opposed to like slices of bacon or sausage patties that mainly just produce fat/grease.
Going with muffins this round. While delicious, I just don't really understand how they are breakfast food. Just because something is a pastry doesn't automatically make it a breakfast item.
Plus, if you eat a muffin, you're hungry about 45 minutes later and that shit pisses me off.
You’ve obviously never had hotel breakfast. Muffins, cereal, banana, yogurt are your opinion. Really poorly cooked eggs. bacon and sausage if you’re lucky.
Oh I've had continental breakfast... but I just skip the muffin because what's the point?
theres a place near me in Salem called brew box that has biscuit egg sandwiches and they are possibly the most delicious bfast sandwiches ive ever had. highly rec. biscuits slap as breakfast food
