We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
My man! Where were you when I was trying to explain biscuits and gravy to Bing? You could have done a better job.
I have had to cook Thanksgiving for 20 so just a tad crazy this past week. I saw someone say biscuits are like scones and threw my hands up and walked away. I’ll concede that’s probably the closest thing, it’s biscuits are much much better for adding things to. It’s really hard to explain buttery round flaky goodness crafted from the hands of God.
Fun fact: in French, French toast is called “pain perdu” because apparently all it’s haters have lost their damn minds.
That's.. wrong? It's called pain perdu or lost bread because people back in the day used the last pieces of bread of a loaf left with eggs to make a french toast. Because y'know, bread was expensive back in the day and poverty and such. In Belgium we also call it 'verloren brood' which is the exact translation in Dutch or 'wentelteefjes'.

I wrote a bunch of jokey responses to this but I sounded like an asshole in all of them so I will try not to be: yes, I did know that it’s called “pain perdu” for this reason and not because it makes the haters lose their damn minds.
piggy pablo I appreciate your one man mission to roast me at every available opportunity in every food related thread but I do have to say it’s making it a lot harder for me to show my face at the boulangerie these days.
