Ouch, really disappointed in the lineup. May be the first time I don't attend in over 20 years, and i was so looking forward to it being at the fairgrounds. I will for sure hit Primus in Huntsville on Saturday now.

So Tora Tora is a Memphis-based hair metal band from the 80s? They actually had a song on the Bill & Ted soundtrack? Could be fun on a Saturday afternoon.

Won tickets in the song of the day contest in 2020. Of course I never got to cash in but got an email today for a free weekend pass. Pretty awesome of them to honor that two years later.

I don't see them headlining anymore, if they even stick together. Could totally see them disband. Wonder who they'll get to replace them.
Yeah, there's no way they will still headline/play a show so soon to his passing.
Comparable and "available" acts would be Nine Inch Nails, Incubus, Pearl Jam, and Fall Out Boy I think. Who knows.
incubus just played here last week. but maybe janes addiction as another option since they are on several festival dates with them and have played BSMF before?

The fest was able to get Tedeschi Trucks. That's a big shift in style, but, especially in the time frame, a justifiable replacement.

only time will tell. your second option makes things easier on the festival to find any band in the area for anywhere on the lineup, than a headliner. but considering its the foo fighters (which i am not a fan of) but they are one of the main attractions, i tend the think they will find another headliner. another option is primus is open friday night with nola on thursday (well bastard jazz) and huntsville on saturday. so they are right here as another headliner option. i really think it will be janes addiction or NIN though

you are correct, i remember thinking how cool they were when i was 15 and then i found metallica, megadeth and slayer.

Thursday he's in Jackson. Saturday he's in NOLA. Jason Isbell as Friday's new headliner? He's got Heartless Bastards supporting him. Would love to see BSMF book Isbell and find a spot for Erika and co.
NIN replacing Foos at Boston Calling. They do currently have Friday open.

If it's just a regular ol' tour booking, a lot of artists may take a pass. But if it's a festival set as a headliner to help cover in the wake of the untimely passing of an almost universally-beloved musician...probably easier to get to yes.

assuming their Raleigh show ends at 11, and strike takes 3 hours, if they go without stopping they still won't be in Memphis until 2 pm. They're gonna load in and set up the entire rig, while acts are actively playing on the main stage? Not happening.

Listen, it may not happen, but NIN just picked up another FF festival slot (Welcome to Rockville). I'm also not really sold on your 3 hours to strike hypothesis. These are veteran crews working with gear that's made to be mobile. They're not building Stonehenge on stage every night. Unless Trent has really gone theatrical in the past few years, it's lights and a big screen.
